She was the moon

Reaching out for the sun

Could it really be

The birth of two souls in one

She reached out for the sun

Not to be it, but to want it

Palm in the palm, arm in arm

would it be a good fit?

She held out her hand

Ached from the years of longing

Yet she could never see it

The real sense of belonging

She wanted the sun, it hurt

The sun paid no heed

 Blinded her at every turn

 A love unrequited indeed

But that didn't stop her from

Wanting the sun so dear

She prayed, the pursued

But the sun could never hear

Time went by, she was still on the moon

And the sun blazed on with glory

Bud the moon shrunk and shrunk some more

And so continues the story

He was the sun

Passed blindly by day

The centre of the Universe

In a heroic mist, he lay

The moon spun on, turning its face

On a saga that would never be

A want so opposite and impossible

Catastrophic for you and me

She was the moon

Spinning on, a melancholy sphere

The sun shone over her every day

The sun she could cover be near

He was the sun, remained

 Blinded by his own light

Never to know the winds of the moon

Never to know its fight

She was the moon and rightly so

Stood alone in her resolve

Unseen, Unheard, Silenced

Hiding a mystery within her she couldn't solve

He was the sun, what could be more apparent

Head of gas, eyes of fire

Could burn a good thing that dared

know of everything but the moon's only desire

He was the sun and she was crashing

The moon, off its path

But only time would prove

That It was the universe playing it's wrath

Universe, almighty and wise

Kept the sun and the moon apart

Always opposite, unreachable, doomed

One blinding the other a blinded heart.
