An Open Letter to Mother Earth

Dear Mother!

I am a bit worried about 

The growing pollution around you!             

It is very painful to notice people  Throwing wrappers, polythene packets, etc.

Hither and thither, 

After consuming ready-made food items.

Instead of disposing the waste papers 

In the dustbin,                 

Why do they 

Behave so negligently?            Why don't they even 

Realize their blunder? 

"Where there is a will,

Indeed, there is a way."            Thus, I do my foremost duty  

By reminding my students   

And sometimes, some strangers, too,            

Whom I notice throwing 

Something or the other carelessly.

I never mind 

Even though some people 

Often get irritated by 

My constant reminder. 

Anyways, dear Mother Earth,

You are important for me;

So, I care for you.
