Alone in the multitude,
There I stood.
Tired of faking a smile,
To be nice to others and beguile.
Sick of cold handshakes,
Fed up of heartaches.
Alone in the multitude,
There I stood.
Like the northern star,
Dangling among the others, yet so far.
Surrounded by friends,
Who disappear at the day ends.
It's always the night,
When it's tough, but i pretend to be alright.
Unsleeping, ever wakeful brain,
Enervated body and the endless pain.
