Ageing of a Mother

Preparing the groundnut chutney,

By picking good groundnuts,

Asking me every day,

About the menu for the next day,

Listening to my trivial tales,

Clapping for my little winnings,

Bringing everything to my table,

Waking up with me early,

Taking care of me during exams,

Food,

Clothes,

Beauty tips,

Progress cards,

Health,

Giving money when I want to go out,

Arguing with my dad to support me,

She was there every moment,

She aged,

So graciously,

So commonly,

As a mother,

And I ignored her,

When I mistook myself for a grown-up,

Now she is not there,

To forgive my blunders.
