Abstract Thriller Others

Afterlife

There was strangeness

there was darkness.

not a flicker of light

in the tunnel I was traveling

at the end it was bright

I didn't' know

how I was there

or traveling, where?

No one by my side

nor my fears could I hide.

Then I realized,

how did my body rise.

Down below I saw, my body

on a table

Doctors pumping frantically

for me to be stable

for me to breathe, able.

The monitor was not readable,

nurses were struggling

with cable.

But I was riding high

and with a sigh.

On the other end of the tunnel

appeared a lovely angel

He took my palm

led me to a place, peaceful and calm.

There was a river flowing

its water clean, the banks emerald green

purity personified, with sheen.

No fog, no smog.

No dust, no rust

There was no fighting, no snatching.

No billing, no killing.

No thirst, no hunger.

Feeling of Love everywhere.

Divinity prevailing.

Meeting my loved, departed relatives and friends.

Exchanging pleasantries, but not a word was spoken, for they were only souls, not bodies.

My happiness did not last long.

I was asked to leave this heaven.

Why? asked I.

Your duties still remaining, to be fulfilled before dying.

To earth, you must return crying.

I slid down the tunnel with a

thud. Into the body on the table. Now my heart was stable.

Monitor was readable, nurses not struggling with the cable.

Alas my happiness was short lived. I was back on my feet,

And others to greet.
