Acquaintance
Acquaintance
Your true face,
I finally saw it,
I had pegged you for someone like me,
While in truth you were someone else,
Hiding behind those smiles,
Was a person who made opportunities,
You just wanted a companion not a friend,
While I was saying that how much good friends are we!
Should have told me from the start,
I wouldn't have kept my hopes up and thought we were close.
Being acquaintance was from your side,
Never hid anything,
Yet you hid something big,
That I got to knew from someone else,
Spent enough time being angry
And accepted the fact that I was open with friends
While you wanted an acquaintance.
