A Stab In Back

A Stab In Back

1 min
281

You asked me to trust you,

I let go of my doubts,

Tackling the haunting fears,

Of daunting past and foreboding future,

Anticipating your arms around me,

Warding off the despondency,

I long for your lips on me,

Kissing away the misery,

Waiting for the warm hugs,

In the middle of snowy nights,

Sitting by the fireplace,

I didn't notice the distance,

You had put between us,

I blinked away the frown,

When I grasped your hand,

I turned a blind eye,

To all affairs you had,

I took the knife to my heart,

When I knew you had already stabbed me in back.
