A Safe Haven, For Her
A Safe Haven, For Her
Rotten air filled my lungs
And I ran back home
Lurking hands, preying eyes: stung
Late night streets no place to roam
The air had a foul smell
Of groped bodies, of rape
Of silent cries of help, of mercy
Of stale blood and corpses made
And I ran home, faster
Home is a safe place
But the air in there was just the same
Similar monsters I had to face
Outside reeks with danger
Inside, evil hides with smiles
Created equal, from Adam's rib
But a woman with filth is piled
How easily the Creator is destroyed
For pleasure, then left tormenting
This is the plight of a woman
Lonely in the battle, but fighting
Many have died in this war
Screaming, when will it be over?
Creating a safe haven for Her
Is my dream to die for.
