A Mere Sin

A Mere Sin

She was completely shattered,

for no one was taking her back,

only they were holding her hands,

when at that time,

Confidence was the only thing she lacked.

No one ever believed her,

questions were prowling all along,

her mind started to stir,

It was a place where she didn't belong.

'Did she commit a crime? '

She asked herself, not less than a hundred times,

Back then, she was the prime,

But now, her heart was all grimed.

"What she did was heinous. "

the word had been spread all over,

"you are a sinner plus,

what you reap, shows you're such a bad sower."

"Oh! was it a mistake? "

she asked Him,

on a moonlit night, beside the lake,

she sat, all sad and grim.

She waited for them to come,

take her life away,

to a place where she'll forget all her glum,

and after a long wait, her innocent soul, with the wind swayed.

So many years passed,

people now asked,

that, "what was her fault? "

"someone did she murder or assault? "

"No! No! these are just small things. "

one replied,

"what she did was all so repugnant,

we will never forgive her, for she had lied. "

"She admired someone so truly,

she cared for someone so vaguely,

and apart from all of the above,

her biggest sin was, that she fell in love."
