A Human

I did all a human could 

To find solace wherever I stood. 

I did that so I could sleep 

And not wake up each night to weep. 

I wanted all a human wants 

A break from all the hurtful taunts. 

I wanted people to love me 

To know that I'm more than what they see. 

I sacrificed all a human does, 

To find someone whom he loves. 

I sacrificed it all to know 

A form of salvation wherever I go.
