A Day At The Pool
A Day At The Pool
On the concrete coast of the edge
of my very own pal’s swimming pool,
I go airborne, matching a wedge,
and I plunge into the water so cool.
I feel the water rushing up my skin,
with the most satisfying, muffled sound,
now that I am in, I open up my fins,
and proceed to flail them all around.
A huge splash of water follows the jump,
leaving my pal and all others in utter shock;
they all bolt to one side, forming a clump,
resembling Siberian cranes migrating in a flock.
As frantically as can be, I get to the surface,
And save me by grabbing the pool’s brim,
it is something which I do just in case,
I forget that I do not know how to swim.
