Episode 39 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the developments on Ravan’s side after Khar is defeated and killed by Ram. Akampan, a rakshas from Khar’s army escapes from the war and rushes to Ravan. Akampan informs Ravan of the death of Khar and Dooshan at the hands of Ram in a war where Ram faced an army of 14,000 ferocious soldiers. Ravan is furious. He wants to immediately proceed to the place where Ram and Lakshman are staying to kill them. Akampan advises him against it. Akampan tells Ravan about Sita, Ram’s wife. Akampan tells Ravan that Ram is deeply in love with Sita. Akampan suggests that Ravan kidnap Sita. Akampan feels that Ram will be half-dead after losing Sita and then Ravan will find it easy to kill Ram. Ravan likes the suggestion. Next morning, Ravan goes all alone to the region where Ram is living. Ravan meets Maareech and requests him for help with kidnapping of Sita. Maareech advises Ravan strongly against kidnapping Sita. Ravan is convinced and returns to Lanka. Shoorpnakha, Ravan’s sister, had seen the Ram-Khar war and had seen her two brothers killed in the war. Shoorpnakha also reaches Lanka and meets Ravan when he is sitting with his ministers. She first insults Ravan for incompetence and then informs Ravan about the death of Khar and Dooshan. Ravan is furious. Shoorpnakha now tells him about the divine beauty of Sita. She describes Sita as the world’s most beautiful woman and tells Ravan to kidnap Sita and make her his wife. Women are Ravan’s weakness. Hearing the description of Sita's beauty, Ravan decides once again to kidnap her. He goes once again to Maareech seeking help for his wicked plan.  (Ref.
