Episode 33 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla starts with a discussion about key defining features of aastik thought. Anil Chawla also explains the meanings of the words Hindu and Bharat. The conversation continues with discussing the attempt of Bharat to convince Ram to return to Ayodhya. Bharat has tried all the arguments that he could think of. As a last resort, he even threatens to sit on a dharna or sit-in-protest before the small hut where Ram was staying. Ram convinces him that such sit-in-protests are not appropriate for him. Exasperated, Bharat asks the people present to help him convince Ram. But the people see merit in Ram’s arguments and tell Bharat that they are unable to help him. At this point, the Rishis intervene. They tell Bharat to let Ram follow the path that he has chosen. Bharat is still not ready to give up. Ram uses the power of affection and love to get Bharat to agree. Bharat gets a pair of gold-studded footwear and asks Ram to wear it for a moment and return the pair to him. Bharat says that this pair of footwear will be put on the throne of Ayodhya and will be the king of Ayodhya. Bharat says that he will live in a nearby forest like a forest-dweller and oversee the kingdom but not as a king. Bharat seeks Ram’s permission for this arrangement. Valmiki Ramayan is the original epic which narrates the story of Ram. It is a detailed work which describes Ram as a human being who faced all the difficulties of life. Ram of Valmikiy Ramayan faces dilemmas, discusses with his family and friends, accepts guidance from learned men and suffers hardships. He always takes the right decisions and follows the path of dharm. This series of conversations is intended to help the viewers understand the personality of Ram. After understanding, one can adopt Ram's ideals in one's own life and enrich one's life.
