Episode 31 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla starts with Bharat answering Ram’s long series of questions. Bharat pleads with Ram to accept coronation and return to Ayodhya as king. Ram refuses with convincing arguments. Bharat takes a different approach and requests Ram to return in the interest of the family and Ayodhya since their father is dead. The news of father’s death hits Ram very hard. He starts crying. Ram regains his composure and carries out the essential rituals of offering water and food to his departed father. Ram’s mothers, Guru Vasishth and others from Ayodhya also come to the hut where Ram, Sita and Laxman were staying. All of them spend the night mourning for the departed soul of Maharaj Dashrath. Valmiki Ramayan is the original epic which narrates the story of Ram. It is a detailed work which describes Ram as a human being who faced all the difficulties of life. Ram of Valmikiy Ramayan faces dilemmas, discusses with his family and friends, accepts guidance from learned men and suffers hardships. He always takes the right decisions and follows the path of dharm. This series of conversations is intended to help the viewers understand the personality of Ram. After understanding, one can adopt Ram's ideals in one's own life and enrich one's life.
