I was looking at the doctor with hope. It was hope that he says something positive. But he broke the inevitable. She is no more.

I was crazy about money since my youth. I wanted to be rich badly. I moved out our parental house in 1992. First for my engineering and then MBA and then for work across many cities.

I seemed to never have time to meet my parents. We had few in between phone calls on basic health check issues. But nothing more.

Suddenly in 1999, I received a call from my father that my mother is hospitalized. I was in midst of very important career defining meeting. I said him that I will call back.

I just forgot to call back till evening. Then I tried calling all possible landlines - no one was answering.

That moment hit me like anything. I suddenly felt alone. Lost in this huge world like a small baby, I wanted my amma.

I just rushed to airport, took the first flight to my home. There was no one as I expected some one to be there. I just didn't know neighbours well - still I rang the bell and asked where are my parents.

"Oh you have come. Please rush to JJ hospital," Mehta uncle said in slightly hoarse voice. He never liked me. Now he must be glad that he didn't have son like me. I didn't know why I was getting such stupid thoughts.

But I did rush. Reached the hospital and soon met my Dad.

That meeting was very very cold . He had no expression whatsoever. He directed me to room.

I went inside - Doctor was examining my mother. I was looking at the doctor with hope. It was hope that he says something positive. But he broke the inevitable. She is no more. I suddenly became poor for life.

So my young boy, don't repeat my mistake.

My boss was telling me his story. His voice was full of emotion and I think I saw tears in his eyes too.

That was it... In year 2007. I changed my priorities of my life. No Lost love for me.
