The Unquenched Thirst
The Unquenched Thirst

They crave my flesh
And not my soul
They laud me with rich gifts, raiment, and gold
It takes guts to be a courtesan
You ought to be bold.
Diamonds and riches
Showers of gold
An investment for future
When I grow old.
But my heart seeks out love
Is it impossible? I ask
Beyond the garbs of public respect
I see these men naked in the dark
As they strip me open
I see the Visage behind the mask.
"Gentlemen oh Gentlemen" I plead
But they dig in
to my flesh
To my words, they pay no heed
"A prostitute does not have a mind of her own." They say
"We pay for your need!'
True, I say -I have no mind of my own
But one thing which solely belongs to me.
A soul which is pure and untainted.
Beyond the facade of a hypocritic society
There still waits a woman pure at heart
Who stretches her arms
To give her life just one more start
Give me a chance, just one more chance
To be loved and to love someone
With all my heart.
