Mother's Love

For every time I cried

You stood by me

For every dream I had

You gave wings

My hands knew not how to create

Till you gently held them and give my dreams a shape.

when I broke down hopeless,

You were my rock

The first word that my tongue ever uttered,

Became the meaning of my life

When the world scorned at me and said,

" You are good for nothing!"

You held me tightly and said that if my heart beats there is hope.

For every time I broke down and gave up

You firmly pushed me to get up.

Your warmth that embraced me

Gave me renewed hope every time I fell.

You forgave me when I hurt you the most

'Cos you knew that none would understand me the way you do.

Before I spoke, you read my heart

How do you know me so well?

When tired and wearied I turned homewards

None asked me How my day went

But it seems you knew it all

Even before I could tell.

"Did you eat ?" "What did you have?"

"Should I make your favorite dish"

Though time flies and situations change

But not a Mother's heart.

"How? I mean how do you do it all without even complaining once?"

You smile the purest smile you have

And tell about this art.

I don't know what the future holds for me but one thing for sure I know;

You mean the world to me.

I am what I am because of Mother.

No matter where I go or what I do

Every difficulty I face, I don't run away

Because you give me the courage and strength to fight every battle without giving up.

All that I am, I owe to you

I am strong because you believed,

It is magic indeed Mother.
