Bird In A Ribcage

Bird In A Ribcage

If love is butterflies in your stomach,

Your love is a bird in a cage.

An eagle in my ribcage.

A wild animal behind bars of bone.

Flying in circles,

Expanding its wings,

Cutting through the air in my lungs,

Causing a storm.

Never to escape,

But to celebrate coming home.
