The Goddess and Green
The Goddess and Green
In the realm of greenery around,
The logs stand with strength so loud
The serenity of the mumbling leaves
Take hold of our ears to sew the ends of peace.
In this auspicious carnival,
To mark the day of Goddess Durga’s arrival
Her colour of green , as it marks
The surplus vegetation even at the brink
of our country’s arc;
As the day of green signifies
The balance amidst nature’s turmoil
The sprinkles of rain on
The green leaflets and soaked soil.
With the locusts in form of the
human endeavours,
Lets in the drought set in
from the trees, so perennial.
With our interference that keeps the nature to slay
The Goddess also keeps the rain to delay,
Save the roots to garnish the blessing
Or spill the bean to accept her curse as an offering.
