Heavenly Childhood

Setting boundaries on the face of the water,

Building castles out of the sand,

Finding joy in fleeting moments,

Setting sail for fairyland.

Ephemeral like the elven magic,

Creative like the dwarven hand,

Imagination did run wild then,

Wrought of magic spun by the wand.

Dip in a Brook or jump in a river,

Never things went out of hand,

What was rush has now gone risky,

Life suddenly looks so bland.

Doing biddings of mundane masters,

Their wish now our command,

Our achievement glory theirs,

Errors elicit reprimand.

Scales of balance out of favor,

Now a quid what was a grand,

Makes me rue and ruminate,

Did horizons really expand?
