Inner Voice

He was lying on the bed with a hopeless mind,

Scrutinizing the past year with memorial rewind,

Opened the closet with undetermined intellect,

With overthinking of his misunderstood talent,

Saw the things he got in the past year from fans,

With the calculation in his mind of loss and gains.

A smile on the face and a ponderous stone on heart,

He was fighting for one year with his inner self and world.

Pondering about the last year happenings and events,

He fell asleep reading the old posts and people's texts,

A depressed face behind an ever smile face,

Was unknown from worldly people's trace.

One wasted year and the overwhelming regrets,

Converted slowly into unlimited vodka, drugs and blazing cigarettes.

Suddenly lying on the bed, his mind felt a tug,

He went into Kitchen and returned with a coffee mug,

A shivering voice was emitting out of his long-ago inactive brain,

He wondered about what it was and for him, it all was in vain,

As he leant towards the bed to have an unconscious nap.

He heard the voice of mini-creature inside his unconscious mind map,

It uttered to him, “Let's focus on present life leaving behind the past one,

Let it go what happened to you and just overcome, don't care about anyone,"

As he heard these words, he realized and fell asleep with a little mope,

With the new morning, he was a new man with determined hope.
