First Kiss
First Kiss
Awkward glances, crooked noses collide–and set off apologies.
And now we notice things
(Your breath smells wintergreen)
And we’re drawn to each other like, unlike poles.
My tongue now a scalpel,
My neck your Sistine Chapel;
Pinning each other down, our tongues wrestle,
While your eyes pierce my soul
Like a meth addict’s needle.
Oh–now lightning strikes!
We don’t care about death but
We’re gasping for breath, in the
Bubbly foamy broth of a witch’s brew
We blew, you and I side by side,
Together at the furnace of life;
Together forever- we broke apart.
(And now my breath smells wintergreen)
And now our eyes like traders’ gleam.
For I gave you a flash of eternity;
You gave me half of the infinity;
All forever etched in our memory.
