A Soldier's Journey

A soldier’s journey is undoubtedly distinct,

With myriads of unbelievable incidents;

His unflinching faith and dignity calls for protecting the motherland

His duty is the pride of his loved ones;

His rewards are meagre

But still he is eager;

His only wish is to die serving his countrymen without remorse,

Perhaps he could have lived long—but no regrets,

His memory will remain etched for long;

The challenges of his journey do not restrain him,

Ice, wind and air, in fact, become his agents of warfare,

His journey is commemorated on Independence Day and Republic Day,

Immortalizing his journey forever!
