Happily Never After

The empty house screamed ‘VACUUM’,

"Let’s split the belongings … ", They said.

Then came the real question…Splitting memories?

His hand was her pillow, her eyes his hope.

As she began to move out with their tot,

They both realised they had invested a lot…

But a decision was made!

Both left each other to tread,

A path that each one of us would dread.

He gave her back his golden ring,

She, the platinum ring … her anniversary gift.

It was more precious for her than anything in life,

Now its value was nothing.

She didn’t even mind if it was sold.

It’s surprising how things ended,

Three Years later…

She was very happy, that she did not drag,

A relation with a douchebag!

He realized, he did not need a wife,

But a beautiful girl; unopinionated, spineless!

Their realisations freed them of the burden,

And they could nurture the flower of their dead garden,

Realizing that there is no need for a tag or a label…

That they could love their young one,

And be capable of doing greater good…

Not only when it is possible, or convenient,

But always!
