Pramit, Amit and Sara were three fast friends. From school to Engineering college they were together. So a natural bond grew between them. After completing their studies they left their homes to work in another city. All went to the same city but were working for different companies. While the job made them busy but they ensured to meet each other when free.

Sara was very impulsive and bubbly. She rarely gave a second thought before making decisions. So some decisions went against her wishes. And for which she had to repent. The problems created by Sara were later on left to Amit or Pramit to make amends. But as they were good friends, they did not mind in resolving the issues. But Sara never made efforts to change.

Like Sara, Amit was also a bit hasty in decision making. But generally, Amit weighed in the consequences before rushing in.

Pramit was the most cool-headed out of the three. He never hurried into any decision making. He seemed to have all the time on his hands. So his decisions generally yielded the best results.

As time passed Sara wanted to get married. Her family back home was also time and again reminding her of this. But Sara was undecided by the groom. Amit and Pramit were such good friends. How could she differentiate between them? But she wanted to marry and marry she must very soon. A curious problem was now ahead of her. Who to marry between Amit and Pramit or should she marry someone outside her friend circle. She declared among her friends that she wanted to marry and it had to be done very soon as it was her nature to act in haste. Pramit kept quiet. On further prodding, Pramit told Sara that she weighs in all the probabilities and then decide. Amit supported her decision. He gave his assurance for her to go ahead. Both Pramit and Amit told Sara to go to the matrimonial site and update her profile with her preferences. But Sara knew how fussy and choosy she was. She loved her independence. She was uncertain that if an unknown person without knowing her would respect her freedom. Then she laid bare her fears in front of Pramit and Amit. She felt she would be comfortable being the wife of either Pramit or Amit.

One day Sara while sitting in a conversation with her friends told them that one of them decide and marry her. As she was already having a relationship with both of them so she liked both of them equally. All the strengths and weaknesses of each other were known to all three. So one of them should decide and marry her. Because she was uncomfortable in marrying a complete stranger.

Pramit and Amit looked at each other in dazed silence. They both said unanimously that it would be better to marry someone outside her friends and the groom should be a little older. The elderly always decided on an age difference between both the bride and groom when arranging a marriage. The groom was generally a little older than the bride because as per the custom and practice of the patriarchal society. But Sara refused to be a stereotype and wanted to boldly take her own decision.

She offered both of them Pramit and Amit to decide soon. Pramit strictly gave his objections saying he was not ready for marriage. Then the ball lay in Amit's court. Sara was pressing for Amit to decide. Pramit repeatedly said that marriage is no child 's play and all decisions should be well thought upon.

Amit was weaker than Pramit mentally so he gave in and decided to marry Sara.

So in a simple ceremony, Sara and Amit were married. Pramit worked hard for their marriage. It was attended by the families of all the three friends and some other close friends.

A new life began for Sara and Amit. The first few months went off magically. They both were enjoying the fruits of their marriage. But slowly the responsibilities of married life came up. Sara never was the one to handle pressure easily. She began to wilt under collective responsibility of maintaining the kitchen the inside and her job on the outside. Amit was never good at balancing the kitchen and office. So he left Sara to fend for herself. Strange how marriage can change people's behavior. Amit who was so caring before marriage had become so callous now. Sara was feeling increasingly unhappy with Amit. At times she felt it was becoming too unbearing. They often got into arguments and fought with each other frequently. Sara used to confide her problems with Pramit. Amit used to share his problems also but with many reservations.

Pramit tried to counsel them both. He tried to find solutions to their myriad problems. Many of the problems were not any problem at all as Pramit thought. It was just a matter of sacrifice, a give more and take little type. But Pramit found both his friends unbending and rigid. He suggested that both Sara and Amit should go on a vacation. As this would heal the difference between the two.

They did obey and went together to a seaside resort. A few days later they came back happy and refreshed.

So they got on with their lives. But slowly again they started fighting. This time the quality of fights was irreversible. On the advice of Pramit, they consulted a family counselor. The counselor charted a list of dos and don'ts for them to follow. After a few sessions, they were getting along well. But later one incident sparked off a fire that could not be doused. Lately, Sara had become a suspicious type and always sniffing a relationship that Amit probably could be having. She used to spy on Amit's mobile phone when he was in the bathroom. She got to know of a phone number belonging to one woman by the photo against the number. In the call list, this number was the most frequent. Sara thought that definitely there was something between Amit and this woman. One day she directly asked Amit who this lady was. Amit got tremendously annoyed and did not elaborate. The situation had come to such an end that Amit had taken a separate residence and sometimes used to stay there alone.

Pramit watched the parting of ways of his friends this way and was very sad. He was still single and was undecided about his future. He felt happy and carefree being alone. Seeing the direction the relationship between Sara and Amit had taken, Pramit thought it was better to be single. At least he was at peace with himself. He was thinking over and over again that in Love, to act in haste was truly waste.
