What Is She Supposed To Do Now

A typical Indian middle class girl, Charu. She is a very sweet, innocent, hard-working but confused girl. confused about her family, her dreams, her life, actually she is confused about every second thing that happens to her. Someday, she will cry a lot. why? Even she doesn't have the answer to it. Some other day, she will be very happy and delighted. Any good news? No, no good news actually no news at all but she is extremely happy.. Strange right! Even she feels strange and confused about her emotions, her thoughts. She belongs to a very typical conservative Indian family where a child especially a girl child is not free to express herself. She is not allowed to speak her heart out, to tell her family what is she going through, what is she feeling. But, once she tried. She tried to tell her strict parents about her confused emotions, her distressing thoughts, and no reason for such.

Unfortunately, she failed miserably. She failed in making her parents understand that she needs help. "Medical help." Every other day she has to face some new confusion. Why am I upset? Why I feel like crying? Why I am sad? What for I am so excited? Why I hate him for no reason? Why? Why? And so many why's for her. But no answer to that why. Many a times she tried to find such people in her family, in her friend circle or many other people to confide in them but of no use. Nobody literally nobody around her tries to understand her, her confused emotions.

For everyone, it is some other reason but not a reason which needs medical help. This is not for only Charu, but for many others whose family, whose society believes that for there children no psychological illness exists. For them, it can be any stupid reason for the confusion, for the distress but not a mental illness. Strange maybe funny for someone but this is the truth that there are many Charu whose family doesn't believe in mental illness, for whom being mentally ill means that the person is mad, has lost his senses. That's it. What they believe. Now, what is she supposed to do?
