Lonely - the word first heard makes us think about not having anyone with us, right? But sometimes being lonely is probably the best thing.

Well, the same was in the case of Mohit, an aspiring IAS officer. After his +2, he had made up his mind of being an IAS officer. He was completely determined to be one, less did he know the journey wasn't that easy! Well, as the name says, IAS is deemed to one of the toughest exams and it was. For becoming one, Mohit had to give up all his comforts.

"What will you wear to the wedding Mohit?", his mom asked.

"What wedding mom? I already told you I'm not coming!", he exclaimed.

"But the wedding will take place 3 weeks before your exam! You have 3 weeks after the function!", his mom replied.

"Mom, I just have 3 weeks!", he said in a different tone!

"Fine then, don't come!" his mom angrily replied and left.

Well, it was Mohit's cousin's wedding in Udaipur where they all were planning to go. But since it was quite near to Mohit's entrance, he did not accompany them and was alone at home. He was upset, he was missing hid family and the functions but a video call was all the compensation to it. He was satisfied with the video call.

The family had gone to the wedding for four days. For four days he had to manage everything all alone.

"Mohit, you're all alone at home! You have no one to disturb you, why don't we go to a party? It'll be fun!", his friends called him up.

"No guys, you all go. I've my exams in 20 days I've to study.", he answered.

"Are bhai kya karega itna padh ke! Kaunsa tu hi hai jiska IAS academy ko intezaar hai! Chal le, ek do ghante ki baat haii!", his friends tried to convince him.

" Ek do ghnte me I can cover a major part of my mock!", he replied.

''Leave then! You stay alone, we all are going. Waise bhi it's no use convincing you!", they told him and left.

Once again Mohit felt lonely. Now after his parents left for the wedding, his friends too left him.

Well, this was all because Mohit had to something extraordinary.

"Didi, Mom-dad are in Udaipur, you can call on their phones to talk to them.", he told his sister as she called him.

"I know they're in Udaipur. I've called you because I wanted to have a word with you. How are you?", she asked.

"I'm fine. Aap kaise ho?", he asked his sister in a sad tone.

"You're upset because you're all alone? You've no one right now to share your feelings with? Why are you upset Mohit? Listen, you yourself did not go to the wedding and party with your friends because you are into a profession that demands a lot of dedication and focus! You cannot afford to waste hours just a few days before your exam! Are you getting me? I'm telling you, your this sacrifice will show you results one day! And don't you remember Dadi's words? "Iss dunia me hum akele aate hai or akele hi jaate hai!", she motivated her brother on phone.

Mohit smiled hearing the last sentence.

"Thankyou Didi for always being my stress buster and motivating me!", Mohit thanked his sister.

"Anytime lil bro! Now you go and study. See you soon!", she said and kept the phone.

Mohit was now motivated to study. He started again and gave mock tests. Before the exam, he was fully prepared.

Soon days later, his parents returned.

"Mohit you know how much your uncle spent on the decorations and catering? And the dress they gave the bride, oh my God! I cannot even express! You shouldn't have missed it!", she told Mohit in a weird tone.

"Maa, we'll do the same for didi!", he offered a glass of water to his parents, took their luggage and went to the room.

Soon his exam came. He was fully prepared. He gave his best and now was waiting desperately for the results!

Weeks later, results were out.

And boom! Mohit had performed exceptionally! He has secured an ALL INDIA RANK 87 amongst the lakhs of students. He was proud of his performance! And so were his parents!

"I always knew my son is a bright child. He'll definitely rock'', his mom said and hugged him.

"So proud of you Mohit! Well done!", his dad blessed him.

He soon called up his didi and told her the good news.

"Congratulations bro! I knew it you'll rock!", she exclaimed in excitement.

"How did you know?", he asked his sister in astonishment.

"Peeche se mumma papa ki excitement ne sab bta dia!", she exclaimed! "I had told you na, your sacrifices will definitely pay off!" she continued.

"Yes, didi! Thank you so much for that much-needed motivation!", Mohit answered happily.

Well the family was very much happy that day and Mohit too had realised that sometimes being lonely can be the best thing! Sometimes being lonely can fetch us the best results.
