Us

We both knew it was over.

We had our good times and we had our bad times. Sitting up in bed, watching Sex and the city. Going to gardens and being talked about how cute we looked.

Everyone called us a pair and perfect for each other. We shared everything! Snuggling up was our favorite pastime. We used to go on walks and run wild.

We both loved the water. He gave an outlet to his water baby by jumping into water at every chance he got. I was not as brave.

We missed each other like crazy during the day and made up for it in the evening.

While on holiday, we always chose places with gardens, for us to run around.

The only thing we differed in was our food – he, a non-vegetarian, and I, a vegetarian! A vegetarian for him! I think somewhere he understood why. Our bond was that strong. We would have given our life for each other.

That’s why as he lay in my lap, I could just stare into the sunset. Utterly helpless, listening to the thump of his tail grow weaker. It stopped. It was our last sunset.
