Town of Frowns And The Lightning Sound!
Town of Frowns And The Lightning Sound!
This is the story of a small town called Malibuan, where everyone was belligerent and gluttonous. Happiness was merely a word that could only be found in the dictionary. A little girl Lilly, who had no friends, walking by the beach dazed her mother when she asked what happiness was and why is it so imperative? The mother was perplexed by the question as she never knew what it meant to be happy. The mother Bluefly segued the conversation but the curiosity in the little girl never died.
One day, the whole town was enveloped by dark and stormy clouds and suddenly the thunder struck, demolishing the town leaving everyone traumatized. The town was left with limited resources and greed could only lead to self-destruction. The calamity evoked a sense of selflessness and brought all the communities who always loathed each other together in these hard times. The little girl Lily for the very first time interacted with other children in her neighbourhood. This interaction to help one another made her very happy as she always thrived to know what happiness could mean. Maybe it was as little a thing as helping each other and standing by one another in tough times.
What took mankind to remind us who we are and where we belong? An organism measuring 50 nanometres in diameter! A city these days is judged by the size of its skyscrapers. World records are created by weeks of unimaginable efforts. Even social lives are determined by the length of one's peer network.
But come to think of it, it takes little things to move mountains. In our difficult, mechanical lives, where we struggle to achieve gallons of 'targets', what gives us happiness are little moments of sunshine. That warm hug by our favourite human or that smiling face on the street. Or a few drops of rain on a dry morning.
In our quest to achieve the world, we shouldn't lose out on things that don't really require much effort but yield unprecedented dividends. Let life be an ocean of several tiny droplets and invest our soul in each one of them- every day, every moment.
