Tom And Jerry Are 80 Years Old!

Did anyone realize that our famous childhood cartoons Tom and Jerry are now over 80 years old? These cartoons were started in 1940 and by 2021, they are around 81 years old!

Though these cartoons are old, they are forever depicted as 6 years old and 10-year-old naughty brats.

Time seemed to have stood still for these lovable cartoons and though many cartoons have come and gone after these cartoons, Tom and Jerry have still managed to retain their originality, their spontaneity, their special spark……….

One of the most important aspects of this cartoon is that all the actions, expressions, and in fact the entire story are communicated only through sounds and pictures. Not a single dialogue is present. Yet everything is as clear as crystal. From kids to grandpas, everyone and anyone can understand and appreciate it.

It has that universal appeal that has ensured its longevity as well as popularity.

For though they are animals, all the behaviors and emotions exhibited by these two adorable characters are so human, so natural that almost everyone can relate to it. No wonder, Tom and Jerry appear to be so believable that one cannot help but develop a special bond with them.

They are cute darlings, whom everyone is fond of!

For people like me, who have literally grown up on these cartoons, naughtiness began to be defined by Tom and Jerry. Mischief, innocence, prank, and naughtiness everything started and ended with ‘Tom and Jerry’.

Its loyal viewers might have grown older with age, but nothing has touched Tom and Jerry and they still retain their inherent bashfulness coupled with innocence, so much so that it is difficult to believe that they are really 80 plus years!!
