The word flame
The word flame
F Fear as my hand wobbles, lighter in my right, my left keeping me balanced. The lighter clicks, and the tiny flame wobbles towards the gas coated wood in the fire pit.
L.
Life shining in my eyes as I envision the crackling of the fire, stars above me, open ground below. Me and my family sitting around it's beautiful, glowing warmth.
A.
A tingling sensation flowing trough my body as the flame touches the wood and the warm feeling of the fire is created too quickly.
M.
Misery as fear once again washes over me, the wood bursting into a high flame. I close my eyes, shielding myself, stumbling backwards and slaming against the rough, outer wall of the house. I can see redness beneath my eyelids, until it fades into black.
E.
Envy of how quickly the fire had scared me. It was now gently burning the wood, as through it hadn't almost spun out of control. I clutched the lighter in one hand, and quickly anded it to my father. Then sit down, and enjoy the quiet peace of the fire's light.
Flame truely is an amazing thing.
