The Seventh Choice _ When the Universe said a Yes!
The Seventh Choice _ When the Universe said a Yes!
"On the page of fate was written a name,
After six girls, that message came.
Never seen before, never known before,
Yet it felt like a bond from lifetimes before."
---
In a small town in Madhya Pradesh, Abhishek sat in his room holding his head. He had already met 6 girls.
*Abhishek’s Mom:* "Son, Sharma ji’s daughter was good. What was the problem?"
*Abhishek:* "Maa, I didn’t feel it. Marriage doesn’t happen by looking at photos, it happens by looking at the heart."
*Abhishek’s Dad:* "Alright then, next week we’ll take the proposal to Mishra ji’s place. This is the seventh girl. The number seven is lucky."
At the same time in Hyderabad, Swati was drinking tea on her PG balcony. Her TCS laptop lay open beside her.
*Swati’s Dad on call:* "Daughter, a boy’s family is coming to see you. Next week. Can you come?"
*Swati:* "Papa, getting a tatkal ticket is difficult. I won’t get leave from office either. I’ll try."
Swati thought to herself — _“I’ve been rejected 6 times already. What difference will the seventh time make?”_
But the universe had other plans. Tatkal ticket confirmed. Manager immediately approved leave. Then he said, _“Anyway, your transfer request has been approved. From next month you’ll work from your hometown.”_
*Swati:* "What? Transfer? So easily? This is a miracle!"

*First Meeting*
Abhishek’s family was returning from a wedding. Swati’s house was on the way. They thought, let’s meet her.
Swati was in a simple suit, no makeup, hair open. She opened the door and time stopped when Abhishek’s eyes met hers.
*Abhishek’s Mom, softly:* "Oh, she looks exactly like me. Like she’s my own daughter."
_Saw her face and saw my own reflection,
A mother’s love found a daughter’s connection.
Relations made at God’s own door,
Value character, not looks, even more._
*Abhishek, to Swati:* "You work in Hyderabad?"
*Swati, with a light smile:* "Yes. I write code, and I read people’s minds. You?"
*Abhishek:* "I’m also in IT. I write code, but I can’t understand people’s minds. Maybe you’ll teach me."
The whole room filled with laughter. It was a 15 minute meeting. But it felt like 15 years of knowing each other.

*Roka — Without a Ring*
Things moved so fast that the elders decided — _“Let’s do the roka today itself. Why delay good work?”_
But the problem was no one had a ring.
*Pandit ji:* "How can roka happen without a ring?"
*Abhishek’s Bua:* "Oh, just exchange whatever you’re wearing. The intention should be pure, the ring is just an excuse."
Abhishek took off his silver ring. Swati took off her old ring.
*Abhishek, while giving the ring:* "This isn’t a ring, it’s a promise. That I’ll always stand by you. Even if you get angry, even if you lose your temper."
*Swati, with tears in her eyes:* "And I promise that I’ll warm up your calm mind a little. We’ll keep the balance."
Everyone clapped. News spread in the neighborhood — _“Hey, Swati and Abhishek were already having an affair!”_
*Swati’s Friend:* "Tell me the truth, how long has this been going on?"
*Swati, laughing:* "Crazy, we met for the first time today. This is an arrange marriage, but it feels like God already arranged it."
_We weren’t meant to meet, yet we met,
Didn’t know each other, yet we knew.
People say there was an affair,
We say this was the Lord’s own dare._

*7th June — Three Joys Together*
The engagement date was fixed — 7th June.
*Abhishek’s Dad:* "Oh, that’s my birthday too! Three joys together."
*Swati:* "Seventh girl, 7th June, and a bond of seven lifetimes. This number seven really is lucky."
On the engagement day, Swati’s office transfer letter also arrived. From Hyderabad to hometown, Madhya Pradesh.
*Swati, to Abhishek:* "Seems like the universe wanted me to stay here. With you."
*Abhishek:* "Not the universe, I wanted it. The universe just agreed."
The wedding also happened the same year. Without any drama, without any obstacles. Like everything was already written.
*At the vidaai, Swati’s Mother-in-law, hugging her:* "I didn’t get a daughter-in-law, I got my own reflection. Take care of my Abhi."
*Swati:* "Maa, you’ve accepted me as a daughter, now leave Abhi’s worries to me. I’m the Rani of Jhansi. I’ll handle everything."
---
_Seven paths, seven turns, stopped at the seventh destination,
Two strangers became each other’s companion.
No love was there, no promise, no confession,
Just in one glance, God’s complete creation.
Swati-Abhishek’s pair was fate’s own line,
What the world calls arrange, was destiny’s design.
