The Old Age Home

"Never mind... she can live alone in that house, we should focus on our lives"- said Raman to his wife. His wife replied, 'yes, you are right; if she lives with us she will interfere in everything and I don't like that'. Raman agreed. They were talking about Raman's old mother whom they had sent to an old age home. They had time for everything but not for their elderly mother.  

This all started 2 months ago, everything was going well but all of a sudden Raman's mother got ill. Day by day her condition was worsening and it seemed difficult for her to recover, but because of regular care at a good hospital, she recovered very soon. But as she was an old lady she was not able to perform her daily activities without someone's help. Raman was tired of his mother and wanted to get rid of her. Whenever Raman and his wife talked about any problem in their life, his mother always tried to put some suggestions to help them but they didn't like this. Raman and his wife thought that his mother interferes in everything and try to prove them wrong. This kind of attitude towards his mother was raising day by day. Actually, the old lady wanted to help them out, but they took it negatively. After some days, the couple headed out of the station to attend a wedding. Before going, Raman explained to his mother to take care of the house very well and they will return within 4-5 days.

 The old lady took care of every single thing from cleaning to dusting, she managed everything. Days passed and Raman and his wife arrived at home. They were not satisfied with the care his mother had taken of the house. Instead of thanking, they shouted at her. His mother felt very disappointed but said nothing to his child. 

Days passed and things were spoiling day by day. One day, Raman sent his mother to an old age home. He was happy after leaving his mother, but she felt awful. His mother always thought about her child and her daughter-in-law. She called them many times but they never received her call and not even visited them for months. 

One good day, Raman visited the old age home for a business deal with the owner of that old age home. The old lady saw her child and went near him. Raman was not so happy to see his mother, he not even asked about her health. 

The festival, Diwali was about to come, so the old lady made sweets, sweaters for her son, hoping that he will visit her but he didn't come. So, the old lady sent all the things by someone else. She did not go there because she thought that it will ruin their happiness. Raman after seeing those things remembered his childhood. He remembered that his mother had promised him to give him a special gift every Diwali, and he had promised to take care of her for his whole life. He was feeling guilty about the mistake he had done, his mother remembered, but he had broken his promise. He thought that he was not worthy of forgiveness but he was really sorry about what he has done, so, he ran towards the old age home hurriedly.

He brought new clothes, sweets etc. for her, and soon reached the old age home. He apologised to his mother, wished her happy Diwali and headed towards home. Raman and his wife has realized their mistake and promised to never leave his mother alone in any old age home. His mother forgave them because every mother loves her child infinitely whether her child loves her or not and ''every mother has a very big heart.'' 

  

'' Every child should think about his parent's infinite love before sending them to any old age home because only they love you infinitely in this world without any selfishness.''

## Elders are worthy of respect not of pressure and misfortune.
