There was a man named Dashrath Manjhi who lived in a Gohlar village in the Bihar state. He was a labourer by profession and his wife named Phaguni Devi was just a housewife. They both loved each other a lot and were living an Arcadian life. On one of the days in his life, his wife fell while crossing a nearby hill and hurt herself seriously. She needed quick medical help but that wasn't possible due to the mountain which isolated his village from the next town. Lamentably, his wife died from serious injuries and Dashrath couldn't do anything. It was the night when Dasharth decided to take revenge from the mountain for his wife's death and collected Chisel and Hammer for free from a hammerman Shivu Mistri.

He started his work alone to carve a path through mountain. It was a formidable plan and he was ridiculed with slang words for it but all the disappointing words made him energetic and finally after working for 22 years (1960-1982) with great potential, strong determination and with eternal love power for his wife a path was carved through that mountain. The path was 110 meters long, 7.6 metres deep and 9.1 meters wide. His life's work helped in reducing the distance between Town and his village from 80km to 13km.

This is a great an incomparable expression of love that Dashrath Manjhi showed.
