The Heart

The white curtains , that allowing the fresh breathe of air through the windows, the petrichor that filling the room and dissolving with the strong scent of medicines . A pretty pale face looking down through the window , although the room in second floor but the view of the front garden is clearly visible .

A nurse come in and after checking the essential supplements available on the right side of the bed, she turns over to look at the patient, the appreciation for a beautiful face and a little bit of jealousy is clearly visible in the eyes of the young nurse, the ebony-colored eyes, a small button nose, heart shaped puffy lips and a fair soft glossy skin. After appreciating the beautiful look for complete one minute, the nurse asked the girl about her health but due to lack of concentration the voice is merely audible for the girl. When the nurse notice that she is continuously looking outside, she also follows the gaze and discover that the pretty girl is looking at the two girls that are around thirteen years old and playing badminton in the garden. After some hesitation, the nurse again asked'' Miss, are you feeling some discomfort ''?

The loud voice of the nurse pulls out Nandini from her eerie thoughts, Nandini look at the nurse and said '' No, I am fine ''. After listening her sweet voice nurse check out her pulses and hasty leave. The silence in the room again makes Nandini to let freely roam in her past memories.

The memories that remind her about the fifteen years old Nandini , The Nandini that was optimistic , proud and serious minded , always tried to make her life more comfortable and very pragmatic. The orphan Nandini that always crave for appreciation and proud for herself in others eyes , the Nandini that had studied very hard to get scholarship for the most prestigious school of the town , that undergo every hardship and bulling , just to secure her dream .

Someone- '' So , you are Nandini, first rank holder of ninth standard ''.A group of beautiful girl circling around a little skinny girl , the girl not paying any  attention to the surrounding , kept looking down in her book.

''Ria , why are you wasting your time on this poor girl , lets go .'' After passing some absurd statements the group of girls went from the garden to the direction of canteen , leaving Nandini with her peace of mind. 

After some time a pretty girl with a cup of chocolate milk come to Nandini , offering her a drink . Without looking at her Nandini asked - '' Are you pitying on me.''

''Why should I''? the girl asked with an expressionless face. '' When you are not sorry for yourself, why should I. You get to attend the most expensive school of the city and with your grades you even get the chance to attend a prestigious college and can control your life as you want, in total I am bit jealous of you.''

A smile took place on Nandini face , From as far as she remember every person she encounter may feel sorry for her or feel proud , She never encountered someone who was sorry for her , a little sparkle of surprise and curiosity clearly visible in Nandini eyes. She slowly took the cup and start drinking and continued her revision . 

''I am Sia , I want to be friend with you .'' the girl said as she took the vacant seat beside Nandini , '' I can help you to deal with bullies ''.

Without looking at her , Nandini respond with only a 'hamm ' sound. In her mind Nandini was pretty sure that Sia would be a good friend , a friend that could understand her , She also sure there was something that make a fifteen years old girl so mature and understanding , Like her who undergo a lot of mental changes to prepare her for the reality of life to survive in the world with dignity and pride.
