Ohh, it sucks!!! Cried 7th grader Anya, as she throws her school bag in frustration. “ What’s the matter dear?” asked Mrs. Kapur in concern. “Today also I lost the cool gang band” replied Anya who looked totally disappointed.

“What’s a big deal about a band dear? “ asked mom surprisingly. “ Mom it’s not just a band it’s a sign that you belong to super cool group of girls...the gang of most stylish gossip queens” said Anya.

“ Ohh dear forget all these and concentrate on your forth coming exams Anya” replied mom with a tint of annoyment in her voice.

“ Forget it mom.....you will never understand” was the sentence of that evening before Anya banged the door on her mother’s face.

“ Humm........teen ache” thought mother before turning the bed light off” And one more day ends at Delhi based Kapur’s residence. It has been six months since Anya has joined her new school and she is desperate to be accepted in her peer group. “Let her walk in her own space” thought Mrs. Kapur before hitting the pillow.

“ Have you made your choice about your pizza?” asked mother as both Anya and Mrs. Kapur were heading towards the local pizza shop. “ Yup.....it will be spontaneous” giggled Anya as they arrived at the venue.

After a long evening of woman to woman talk with her teenage daughter Mrs. Kapur was surprises to see how Anya has eaten her pizza. She had finished off the entire internal part of the pizza leaving behind the dry bread border.

“Why didn’t you eat the outer border of the pizza dear?” asked Mrs. Kapur on the way of returning home.

“Its simple mom......I prefer the spicy part of the pizza and discarded the dry tasteless outer part” Exclaimed Anya with a sarcastic smile.

“My dear the same holds true for your cool gang team......” .” You know things can much simpler when you know what is worth fighting for and what is meant for letting go”. Explained Mrs.Kapur calmly.

“Give it a thought with reference to your forth coming exams.”

“Common mom!!!” was all Anya could say that evening.

3 months later, Anya was busy celebrating her success in her final exams with her family, suddenly the phone rang.” Mom...one more congratulation” exclaimed Anya as she rushed to take the call.

To her surprise it was an invitation from the cool girls head to join the group.

“One fact that I have learned from my experience is...your choices defines you as a person so its very important to choose priorities over petty things....and I choose not to be a part of cool gang. Instead I will create my own identity in the school” replied Anya before hanging up the phone.

And the evening ended with an exchange of mutual love and gratitude, strengthening the mother daughter bond further.
