The beautiful scar

It was a very important day in Sumis life.For that matter any girls life.Yes,you got it right it was her wedding day. Mr.and Mrs.Verma her parents were on cloud nine.They had wished for this day to happen in their darling daughter's life for quite sometime.They were desperately looking for a groom for their daughter., Sumi was a pretty girl,well educated,with a good job and so on. But what was the reason for the delay on her getting married?Like all parents her parents too were worried until a very nice person came into her life.He was none other than the groom Dr.Eshwar.Now let us get into the flash back of this beautiful story of a scar that is really beautiful.Yes,I understand you might be wondering how something like a scar be termed as beautiful you will agree with me after you go through this story .Mr and Mrs Verma are a simple middle class couple who lived with their daughter Sumi in a home made with their hard earned money. Mr.Verma worked as a clerk in an Life insurance company and Mrs.Verma, a housewife and a doting mother of a lovely girl.Their life revolved around their little girl.She was brought up with care and was imbibed with a lot of life values.They enjoyed simple things in life and spent every moment happily.together.Mrs.Verma was thankful to God for all these blessings.Evwrything was going on well. Alas one day something happened that changed their life Mr.Verma suddenly developed severer abdominal pain while at the Office.He had to be shifted to a nearby Hospital immediately. Mrs.Verma was informed about this and she rushed to the Hospital.Sumi was at the College attending classes as usual.Mrs Verma was so tensed and as soon as she saw Sumi coming she runs and hugs her weeping inconsolably.Sumi had cold feet but tried to put a brave front lest her mother would be more tensed .She assures her mother that things will be fine and goes to the Doctor's cabin to enquire what the matter was.She was aghast at what she heard Her father had developed a kidney ailment due to which one of the kidneys needed to be transplanted. .Mr.Verma was a very disciplined person was teetotaler and non smoker .Sumi was perplexed as to what the reason was for this problem.After a long discussion the Doctor recommends Kidney transplant as the only option to avoid further health issue.Now comes the core issue.The cost of such transplants run into lakhs and a donor is required to donate a kidney that matches the recipient.Regarding the cost matter Sumi was concerned about the cost and how to manage money for the same.Her mother thought about it and feels relief after her brother assures her about arranging the money, which they could return whenever possible.Now comes the role of the donor.Sumi requests the doctors to check her body and find out if her kidney is suitable to be implanted in her father's body.She would be the donor thereby.The Doctors conducted a series of tests and confirmed that Sumi could donate her kidney to her Dad.A date is fixed for the surgery .Sumis mother is under severe stress when both her nearest persons will be under the knife one the donor and the other the recipient . She kept chanting her mantras and then the Doctor comes out of the Operation theatre and informs her that the Surgery was successful and both her husband and daughter were fine .Mrs Verma spent the remaining time with bated breath and by evening both Sumi and her father regained consciousness after the surgery. Looking at Sumi her parents could not control their emotions.They were feeling proud that their daughter was so courageous that she was ready to give away a part of her body without batting an eyelid for her dad's sake.But now their major concern was about the scar she will have on her body and about her marriage ,she would have to manage with one kidney.So,now we understand why the scar was termed as beautiful and how lucky Sumi was to have found a life partner who stood by her with this scar in tow. Sometimes we should wonder whether marriages are really made in heaven or on earth. oh my lots of confusion but all is well that ended well with the union of two beautiful souls .
