That Girl...

Kabir is a senior policeman, who was sitting and enjoying the late evening cutting tea at the police station where he works. Suddenly a girl entered “Sir, I am a murderer”, She was trembling while saying this and she was continuously requesting "Please arrest me sir...please".

Kabir calmed her down a bit, forced her to sit on the chair and asked her what's her name, she replied " Vinita ". Kabir asked her "Who did you killed?” She replied, “I have killed 3 people.”

Kabir was shocked to hear that. He thought how can a girl who barely is in her mid 20s can kill 3 people and then committing it in front of the police. The whole thing was a bit unusual for kabir and he started thinking is this some kind of a joke or prank.

Vinita conitnued, “I have killed my Gardener, my brother and ……..” She paused a bit and started to sob. “And my mother.” She started crying hard. Kabir gave her water and she started drinking it.

Then before Kabir could've asked her anything, she grabbed Kabir's hands and said, “Please I beg of you, please arrest me otherwise I will kill someone else. Kabir asked her, "Why did you kill them and why do you think you're going to kill others? Tell us Vinita, what exactly has happened with you?"

She said, “I don’t know. It just happened...don't know why?!!”, Kabir replied, “ I am not getting it. and I cannot arrest you without any complaint and without seeing the body of the dead people you are talking about.” She didn't reply anything, Kabir added, “Vinita, where are the bodies?”

“In my garden.” She wasn't looking like she's bluffing, but what she was saying was very hard to believe for Kabir.

Kabir decided to go to her house. He took two constables also with him. When they reached her house she took them to her garden and told us the places where the body of the gardener and her brother were dug . Kabir told the constables to take the bodies out.

“Where’s the body of your mother?” Kabir asked Vinita. With tears in her eyes she replied, “Inside the home.” Kabir started to follow Vinita. She took him inside the house and then stopped in front of a dark room. 

She pointed towards that room and said, “Inside. My mother is lying” She started crying again. Kabir opened the door of that room very carefully and went inside, the room was so dark that it was difficult to see anything. He had one torch with him so he turned it on and searched the whole room but the room was empty. Then He saw another room which was closed.

He opened that room and saw that there were three bodies lying inside the room. Two men may be Vinita’s gardener and brother and one old lady may be her mother. He was wondering why Vinita told him that bodies are out there in garden, and before he could think of any other thing.......“Ahhhhhh………” Someone stabbed Kabir from behind. He turned around. Vinita was standing with a knife in her right hand covered with blood.

“Why?” Kabir asked her in a breaking voice. She came closer to him and stabbed in his stomach and said, “Because, today it’s Fun.” He fell on the ground and she took his gun and rushed outside. and then Kabir heard few gunshots. She killed the constables too.

As Kabir was in his dying moments, he had a last glimpse of Vinita, standing in front of the mirror, combing her hair and singing............'Tum aaye toh aya mujhe yaad, gali me aaj Chaand nikla'

The story ends with a scene of Full Moon shining in the clear dark sky..
