Surprise!

Tania was at home when she got a call, she hurried to speak as she thought it was the call, she had been waiting for almost as much as 4 months. Tania was a Teenager of 13. She was a charming and pretty girl, and always open to new things. She had big beautiful grey eyes, which most of the time looked a little queer, but were mostly ignored coz of the thick black eyelashes around the eyes. Tania was mostly coloured as the 'Kashmiri girls' red cheeks and white body. Mostly because of her Kashmiri mother. Her father was from Himachal Pradesh, but Tania looked just like her mother Aliya, She was often referred to the term "Junior Aliya". She had a few months ago participated in National competition for skating. She was eagerly waiting for what must have been the result. This was how she usually did-:

Run towards the door to get the mail which the postman had delivered to check if there was something for her.

Check the mail inbox of her parents and hers every day to check for any emails regarding the competition.

And off-coarse Pick up the telephone before anyone else, to check if someone was on the other end, just as excited as her, telling her that "congrats you have won !" 

But her excitement soon died as time passed and the hope that once got shelter in her now felt homeless..... But today was different from the morning she felt as if something special is going to happen, and there it was- at about 7 in the morning, sure enough, she got a call on the telephone line. Her mother told her "Tania, Tania it's a call for you." When her mother had called her she was still in her room, sleeping. She got a shock of shiver as her mother called her, she hurried down to the living room tripping at least 2 times of the steps. But that didn't matter at all she just had 1 thought is it the call I have been waiting for? Tania rushed past her father then dashed into her mother. Her mother kept scolding her about the ways of walking and paying attention. But she was already in her dreams, dreams about being a skating world champion and being famous. She snatched the telephone from her mother's hand and started- " Hello I'm Tania," And before the person on the other end started speaking Tania continued-"Have I become Famous, I mean Have I become the winner?" She asked sleepily " Um well" started Tushar, the Judge of the skating competition " You were going to be selected, but now we changed our plans, congrats you have won 4th place." " I wish you better luck next time!" "Thanks and bye". Tania just couldn't believe her ears, she was not the winner, and nor will be the 'famous world champion skater'. She felt broken, she remembered how much practice and hard work she had done for this competition and even the state level competition from which she got selected for the national one. Her mother got to know everything by the look at Tania's face. She called her to her bedroom after lunch and gave her a piece of her mind. From then on Tania excepted the bitter truth. 

It was after dinner that Tania and her father were sitting on the couch watching the daily updates on the news. Both had a full tummy and were enjoying the T.V and were chatting about the news, when the host suddenly announced, "Breaking News, The National Skating Competition held in Mumbai has declared their results in the morning and the first 3 winners are going to participate in the International round. but the national skating organization just announced that the person winning the 3rd position is disqualified because she is not the actual winner as she has been doing cheating." " The person in the 4th place is going to be in the 3rd position and is going to participate in the international round.......
