Sophie and the Mysterious Necklaces

   

               Chapter 1 Sophie Summers

         One year later 

It was a calm autumn weekend in Piedmont hill when I and my mother decided to go to the mall. Because it was a nice day for shopping, there were crowds of people. The first thing that caught my eye was the jewelry store. I look in the glass window display case and see a ‘’gold’’ outlined clock necklace that actually works! 

‘’Mom is it ok if I get that clock necklace in the display case right there?’’ I ask. 

‘’Sure, but only if you use your own money.’’ Mom replies. 

‘’Ok’’ I respond, knowing that I have at least 30 dollars of allowance in my pocket.

I rush into the store, my mom trailing behind me. 

I ask the person who owns the shop how much it costs at the front desk.

‘’That'll be 10 dollars ma’m.’’ He answers. 

I give him the 10 dollars and a 1 dollar tip and think about showing the necklace to Nick at school.

For the rest of the day I tried to match the necklace with different outfits. Most of the outfits matched and then I decided to put the necklace in it’s jewelry box for the night. 

          Chapter 2 

            Sophie Summers

‘’Wow’’ I say to myself. 

‘’Wow what?’’ asks my little brother as he steps into the room. I quickly hide the necklace. 

‘’Nothing’’ I answer. ‘’ Now will you please get out of my room?’’ I ask.

“Why….?”He asks noisealy.

“Because this is my room and I want you to get out.” I say angrily. 

“Ok Ok!! He says as he walks out.

Phew, that was close, I think to myself. I I quickly speed around the room, picking up my school stuff. 

Oh right, I need to bring my dictionary today. I look around the room but I can't find it. ‘’There it is!’’ I exclaim. 

 

 ‘’Sophie time for school!’’ My mom yells. 

               Chapter 3

        Nick Thomas 

  

I had just gotten home from school and decided to go up to my room when I hear someone in my room!

I kick the door open to find…Sophie?!

‘’Phew it's just you’’ I say, happily. ‘’Wait, what are you doing in my room?’’ I ask, confused. 

‘’Oh I just walked here’’she replies “And when I noticed that you were not home yet, I just came up here and waited for you.” 

   Chapter 4 Sophie Summers 

Nick started staring at me.

Wait, is he staring at ME or somewhere else BEHIND me? I think I turn around and the next thing I see is darkness.

   

I wake up to an evil smile in front of my face. I could recognise that grin anywhere. I was also tied up in chains in a place that I couldn't get off of. 

‘’Its you!’’ I yell. “Where am I tell me now!’’ I demand. 

‘’Well your fistey as usual.’’ He says . 

‘’How did you find me I thought that you were gone and we would never see each other again?!’’ I scream and look around for Nick ‘’and where Nick tell me now Peter tell me now?!!

‘’Oh so that's who this dork is over there’’ He says pointing to Nick who is on a rolling cart. 

‘’What are you going to do to him! ‘’ I yell at the top of my lungs.

‘’It's not about what I will do to him. It's about what I shall do to you!’’ Peter cackles. ‘’Take the weirdo away’’ and with a flick of his hand, Nick is wheeled away from me. 

‘’Now to deal with you”he says in deep disgust. “Put HER in the pre-torture room’’ he yells to his henchmen. 

“Oh no” I think nervously. What is he going to do to me!!! The henchmen tie ME to a cart and roll me into a room with a bunch of brushes and soapy water. Oh geez what are they thinking of doing to me with this stuff? I wonder. The only thing that I can imagine them doing is giving me a bath. But I am 15, why would they? They told me to take off my clothes and to walk into the bathtub with the scrubs. They left the room so I could have privacy. I wonder why they want me to do this?

As soon as I got my clothes back on, I tapped on the door and the henchmen came back in. They put me back onto the cart and took me to a dark room with horrible torturing things of all sorts. 

‘’We meet again’’ says a voice out of the darkness.

‘’What have you done with Nick!’’ I demand the shadow in the darkness.

‘’Oh he is in the other torturing room across the hall’’ the darkness answers.

‘’Also how did you get this place’.’ I ask with true curiosity in my voice that I didn't mean to put there.

Peter emerges from the darkness. ‘’ Oh we rented it for a year or so starting today’’ Peter replies. 

“Oh cool. Tell me more.”I say “If there’s a way to distract Peter this is it”i think “And a good way to get some information out of him too.” 

Peter continues talking for about 15 minutes until…. 

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING PETER!!!”a random angry voice yells out of the shadows. He starts to answer but a very loud scream cuts him off. 

“Oh no the only other person that he is torturing is Nick!!’’ I think, panicking and struggling. The new man steps over me and smiles. I look back hopelessly. He smiles even wider than before. I start trying to chew on the stirring that was pinning me down. He examines me shortly then frowns. 

“THIS one smarter than the other one.” He says flicking his hand towards the door and acting like I was an animal getting ready to be cooped up in a cage. “Make sure she is secure before….”he pauses to look at me “Treating her.”he finishes.

‘’Treating me is that really what he’ s gonna call it?’’ I think, nervous for the events ahead. 

‘‘Who are you and what do you want!’’ I yell .

‘’Just call me the shadow man.’’ he replies. 

  

‘’I’ll be right back with the materials’’ shadow man says, grumpily. 

“And send someone else to watch HER”He says, flicking his hand again towards me this time as he exits the door. 

2 seconds after shadow man disappeared a small smart looking boy came in to watch me while Peter cheks the machines. I have a really bad feeling about that tall machine with suction cups on it. 

As soon as Peter was done checking to see if the machines worked the shadow man walked back into the room.

‘’Now to deal with you!’’ he says pointing a finger at me. 

*gulp* 

 Chapter 5 

    Peter Grandmon

‘’Fire up the 1st machine Peter!’’ Bellows the shadow man.

‘’Ok’’ I reply. I head over to the first machine and pull the lever. This machine makes her feel sleepy. When Sophie enters, the machine shoots out sleepy powder and she will start to feel groggy. 

That's when it hits me. What if I am going hard on Sophie? Nah her parents were mean to me so l am getting revenge! 

Sophie is then pushed into the machine and when she emerges from the mist, she looks sleepy.

The next machine is for making Sophie feel like this is all a dream.

Sophie was immediately shoved into the machine and now looks like a person who hasn't gotten sleep in a week. 

 ‘’This is niiiice.”Sophie gurgles, probably unaware what she's saying. 

  “Yes Sophie, and it’s going to get better!”I say enthusiastically to the messed up Sophie.

 ‘’Fire up the FINAL machine!’’ bellows the Shadow Man, with a big grin on his face.

“Yay, I can’t wait! Whooo whooo.”Sophie says sleepily.

          Chapter 6 

          Sophie summers  

   I was put into a misty machine and then everything went black but i could still hear myself talking and I really liked it.

  

Then I saw the big machine and did something that I would have never expected to do! I slapped myself in the face!

‘’Snap out of it!’’ I repeatedly say to myself. ‘’ Snap out of it!’’ 

Finally after a bunch of slapping myself, I am back to normal! Who would have thought that slapping yourself could come in handy! Then I screamed even before I was put into the big machine.

“WHAT THE…”The shadow man said but didn't get to finish when Peter said

“WHY DIDN’T THE MACHINE WORK!’’ Peter blurts out. The shadow man glares at him and said 

“I thought i told you she was SMARTER than the other one!!!” He yells “Put her in again or just deal with it and put tape over her mouth to keep her from SCREAMING quiet!!!” then henchmen came in and tied me down to a wooden board and put tape over my mouth. Then I was pushed into the machine. 

   At the last second I pulled one of the ropes loose around my arm and opened the locket and the next thing that I knew I was in a different room!

I must have been in the room next to the torture room because i heard the shadow man bellow:“I TOLD YOU she was SMARTER!!!!! Now YOU need to go look for her!!!!” I need to hide!!

I quickly teleport into another room and in there is the most horrid sight that i could ever have seen……… Nick on the floor half dead!

    

   Chapter 7 

  Nick Thomas

   “Sophie? Is that you?”I moan in great pain

   “Yes Nick I'm here and I think I can heal you. I just need you to be quiet for a moment so they don’t catch me,Ok?”she says hurriedly but also soothingly.

I nod in agreement. Sophie closes her eyes and puts her hand on my chest and her hand starts to glow! Slowly but surely, my pain drifts away. When she is finished I ask her:

‘’How did you do that!’’

‘’It's all in the necklace’’ she assures me. ‘’ Now we need to escape!’’ 

‘’Right’’ I say. “So do YOU remember how we got here?”

“Nope.I think they brainwashed us so in case we DID try to escape we wouldn't remember how to get back.” she said.

“Check the room where the weirdo boyfriend is!! The girl talked about him when she was in dreamland!” Yells Peter.

 I look at Sophie. She's blushing, as pink as she could be . 

‘’Well we need to escape’’ says Sophie, still blushing. ‘’If you are teleporting with me you will need to hold my hand.’’ She says.

I grab her hand and she closes her eyes. A burst of light illuminates the room. 

We end up in some type of torture room with even scarier things in it then the other torture rooms. 

‘’Come to think of it, what happened to you with the last machine in your torture room?’’ Sophie asks me. 

‘’You really don't want to know.’’ I reply, shuttering . 

‘’I have been expecting you’’ says a voice in the shadows!

       Chapter 8 

        Jacob Thickle 

   

   I emerge from the corner and yell, 

“SOPHIES IN THE DELUXE TORTURE ROOM!!!”soon henchmen come rushing in. They emedley tie Sophie in a machine that she can’t use her powers at all and if on the right setting drains them,but just in case they take away the necklace. They put the jerk boyfriend in a sleep container so he can’t save Sophie from anything.

“Well done,very well done Jacob.”The shadow man says to me as he walks into examen Sophie. As he does he grins and says to Sophie who is having a mouth clamp attempted to be put on,but she is biting the henchmen who are trying to put it on. Finally they get it on and she affashly can’t use her magic. 

“Well well well YOUR the one causing all the trouble?”the shadow man said to Sophie who was glaring at him intently. “Hmmmmm” said the shadow man. “What's her name,and what his name.”

“Her name is Sophie '' I say flicking towards Sophie then flicking my hand towards Nick the jerk say “And his name jerkface Nick '' the shadow man gives me a rare smile and presses the button for inescapable dreamland mist. 

Chapter 9

 Peter Grandmon 

   I watched as Sophie was fighting to not go to inescapable dreamland. “Ha,you deserve this,there's no more so smart Sophie now only sleepy Sophie,har har I love this.’’ I think to myself proudly

Then I see Sophie's face light up! She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a clock?! She presses a button and everything in the room starts to float! Then she gets sucked into a book that the guard had been reading. ‘’ Star Wars the force awakens the book’’ it reads. A few minutes she comes back with a whole Rebel army! Including Rey,Finn,Poe,and Leia.  

 

“Uhhhh….. Heh heh…..’’ I say nervously.

Everyone who is bad and in the room puts their hands up, including me. If Star Wars taught me anything then it would be to not play around with Rebels if you are a bad person. 

For 15 min the Rebels stayed to watch us and when Sophie thought that we had enough, she took them back into their book.

’’We should make a plan before she comes back here’’ I whisper. 

So we made a flawless plan and we were ready for Sophie to come back.

  

        Chapter 10 

           Sophie Summers 

I cleared everything up with the Rebels and thanked them. I also told them that it meant a lot to me that they helped. So when I pressed the button on the clock to go back I was hoping that everything would be resolved. Which it wasn't. I expected to land on the ground but I landed in a net. The net immediately closed around me and scooped me up. They put me back in the tube thing and took away the clock. This time they didn’t put me in unescapable dreamland though. They tried to take away my powers!!! 

The Shadow Man glanced at me briefly and pressed the button that had a P on it and I felt like something was pulling my arms and legs off! It felt like I was being teared apart from my body then it went black. 

   I wake up in a very warm and toasty place. Like all my dreams and hopes were right in front of me. Me and Nick were getting married and getting a house. There were also my worst fears like I was forever sleeping or turning bad or Nick turning against me and me dying at a young age. The further in I went in my frears they got worse and more real. It seemed to be endless because new fears came up every step.

Finally I come back to reality and I realize that they were all watching me while I was asleep. I quickly ‘’made a just in case’’ note to myself with my just in case pen and pad of paper. Just in case they erase my memory. When they saw that I was awake they started to operate the next machine. 

I immediately recognised it. It's the one with the suction cups! They suction cup my arms, just like last time. The next thing I remember is an elterice feeling in my brain and the shadow man saying-“Say bye bye to your memory Sophie!” With a wide evil grin on his face.

               Chapter 11 

                Peter Grandmon    I watch Sophie as she passes out again and hear the Shadow Man saying something to Sophie as she does. 

   “Ok everyone lets get her to a bedroom here. Let's go, let's go!”Shadow man says after Sophie's eyes closed. About ten people put Sophie on a stretcher and bring it to a beautiful bedroom with a very comfy looking bed. 

They lay Sophie down on the bed and she continues to be in ’’La La Land’’ as I call it. 

“Everyone exit the room hurry go!” Yells the shadow man. 

Everyone quickly exits the room, including me. We watch the camera that was embedded in the bedpost. About 15 minutes later Sophie wakes up looking lost and confused.

’’Where am I! Who am I! And where did i come from!’’ She exclaimed.

’’Perfect!’’ whispers the shadow man. We all walk into the room.

 ’’Oh hi there young lady’’ Says shadow man, pretending to be polite.

 ’’ Who am I ?’’ she asks, looking bewildered.

’’You are Sophie.’’ 

’’Huh?’’ 

            Chapter 12

            Sophie Summers

‘’Uhhhhh how did I get here?’’ I ask, my mind as blank as it could ever be.

‘’That's not important’’ says a tall man at the foot of my bed. 

I put my hand in my pocket, only to find……… a notepad and a pencil! I open the notepad and read the writing inside. 

I quickly realized everything! Everything came back to me! So now I had a quick summary of my life in my hands.

‘’She’s got something!’’ yells a red haired kid.

 ‘’That must be Peter,’’ I remind myself.

 A man comes directly out of the shadows, and snaches the notepad from me. 

     ‘’That has to be the shadow man’’ I tell myself.

  

 Then I remember something that I wasn’t on the paper! I remember that in 7th grade, I took outside of school karate classes!

I quickly stand up, take a bow, and start to fight the bad guys. 

             5 min later 

All of the bad guys lay on the floor, unconscious. 

‘’Well done myself’’ I quickly go downstairs to the deluxe torture room. A cloud of purple mist greets me and I notice a certain person on the floor! Oh wait this must be…. Nick. 

I cover my nose with one hand and with the other, I carry Nick to a blue room with a very nice bed. 

What I didn’t know yet (but I would know soon) is that shadow man wasn’t unconscious. He was FAKING!!!

         Chapter 13

       The Shadow man 

I quietly creep out of Sophie’s “room” and rush to the other bedroom.

“Aha,I have caught you red handed!” I say like a police officer. 

Sophie whips around with a surprised look on her face. Then like he was told, Nick sat up and walked over to my side. 

‘’Who are YOU!’’ asks Nick, pointing to me. 

‘’Oh I am the shadow man and you my friend are the most evil person in the entire world!’’ I say, going with Peter's plan.

“Ok whatever you say, ’’Shadow man’’.” says Nick sarcastically. 

‘’So what's wrong with that girl?’’ asks Nick, pointing to Sophie.

‘’Oh she is sooo boring and she is really nice to people.’’ I say.

‘’Where is the action in her?’’ Nick asks.

‘’I have no idea. She is a nerd I mean look at her!!!’’ I reply, trying to make Nick be on my side. 

‘’There is no way that you can call me a nerd and get away with it!’’ hollers Sophie, angrily. 

She goes up to Nick, like a tiger ready to pounce. 

Nick shoves her over, like she means nothing to him.

‘’So what are the latest evil plans? Nick asks, right on track.

I grin a wicked grin.

           Chapter 14

          Sophie Summers

As Nick and the Shadow man continue their evil conversation , I get really angry. 

As soon as they leave the room, I immediately slam the door behind them. 

‘’Teenage girls can be hard to understand sometimes’’ I hear the shadow man mumble to Nick. 

‘’ You choose the right side,Nick.’’ The shadow man says cooly.

 When I am sure that they can't hear me anymore I start to get really upset. 

 ‘’I can’t believe he turned against me. According to my notebook Nick and I are dating “ mumble to myself. ‘’Well if he’s gonna play dirty, then i’ve gotta get my defence system. Who says I need POWERS!’’  

I head downstairs and find myself in the scraps closet. ‘’It’s time to put my inventing skills to the test!’’ I say, ready to build something. 

I quickly pick up some supplies and get to work.

          Inventions #1 The fear ray Uses: show anyone a projection of their worst fears.

#2 The makeup gun Uses: instantly shoot makeup onto any boys within a 1 mile radius. It is also really hard to wash off! 

#3 The bizarre ray Uses: make any person see everyone differently and it might make everyone look creepy to the person it was used on.

#4 The memory return- er Uses: to get back someone's memory(I 

When I had finished all of my inventions, I was ready for the Boys vs Girls war.

The shadow man didn’t take away my phone, so I called Lizz.

Lizz found the place where I was. It was on a place called torture road. “How ironic” I think. She came in, found me, and we quietly creeped back up to the 2nd bedroom with my inventions. Then I quickly explained to her what happened and she listened and when I was finished she couldn’t believe it!

‘’So you're telling me you got kidnapped, almost electrocuted twice, got rebels out of a book, lost your memory, got it back, Nick lost his memory, he turned against you, and you made inventions, and then I came?’’ Lizz asks, shocked. 

‘’Yep’’ I reply. 

 ‘’And how many days have you been here?’’ Lizz wonders.

   

     ‘’I have completely lost count’’ I say. ‘’ But I stole this’’ 

 I tell her as I hold up a monitor of the room that the bad guys are in.

“All WE have to do is go into this room and lock it before they leave, then get Nick's memory back, then we have to get my powers back,then fight the bad guys and win... When I say it outloud,this is going to be almost impossible.”I say thoughtfully and aparnly very fast because Lizz tells me to repeat myself. 

As soon as I explained what I said to her, we heard a knock on the door!

‘’It’s go time’’ I whisper to her.

         Chapter 15

        Nick Thomas 

   As I walked down the hall with the shadow man, he filled me in on some of the details of my life before Sophie Summers wiped my memory. Apparently, Sophie is an inventor and made a memorywiper2.0 then she wiped my memory. 

 She wanted me to turn good. Soon after I had awoken, the shadow man came in and well you know the rest.

So now, I am starting with a clean slate, and yet I have no idea what is happening next.

Then, out of NOWHERE there's a knock on the door. I feel a slight pain in my head. So I turn around to tell The Shadow Man, but as I turn around to tell him, I see that everyone around me are wolves?! 

I realize that my greatest fear is wolves and I scream and run in circles around the room! The scariest wolf who is also the tallest walks towards me, confused.

“What's wrong Nick? It seems like something is wrong!’’ 

‘’The wolf knows MY name! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’’ I yell 

I hear some snickering outside the door. 

The door burst open, and there were 2 people there. 

‘’Phew’’ I say to myself. 

I turn around and everyone is back to normal. 

  

     ‘’It’s you!’’ I say with a dark tone in my voice. 

      ‘’Who me?’’ Sophie says, questioning. 

       ‘’Yeah you, its obvious, after what you did to me I will never lay a hand on you again!’’ I reply. There's another girl but I ignore her and focus on the one who ruined my life… I think.

“Oh really? Then take this and think again!” Sophie says and the other girl points something at me and shoots a powder in my face and suddenly I remember who everyone is and why I'm here.

“Sophie!!!”I exclaim.

“Yes?”She says with her eyebrow raised and hands on hips. 

   “Give me the Ray” I say, smiling at her.

   She smiles back and hands me the ray called the bizarre ray. and I shoot it at the shadow man,(Who still had some wolfish characters to him) and a henchman who looked as though he was dreaming a deep dream. Both started to panic and run around the room, screaming.

Chapter 16

 Lizz Falcon

   After we kicked butt with only Jacobs and Peters butts left to kick,we walked into the hall with Peter and Jacob . Then shot the bizarre ray at Peter and the makeup ray at Jacob . Jacob stares at me and Sophie, blankly.

‘’What did you do to me?’’ ask Jacob.

    ‘’Ahh chickens’’ screams Peter in the background, as he climbs a tower of chairs . 

‘’It’s always been odd, his fear of chickens’’ Sophie says, thoughtfully. 

  

    ‘’Jacob, you're going to need this.’’ I say, handing him a mirror. 

     ‘’Why’’ He asks suspiciously. 

      ‘’Just look’’ I reply. He looks in the mirror.

      ‘’Ahh chicken with makeup on!’’ he says pointing to Jacob as he looks in the mirror. 

 ‘’Ahhhh! makeup’’ hollers Jacob. ‘’What did you DO to me!’’ he says looking at Sophie, terrified.

“ Oh relax it’ll wash off… eventually,” Sophie says 

“HOW AM GOING TO GO TO SCHOOL LIKE THIS?!?!?!?” He yells.

“Oh would you CALM down! It will come off… or you will get TOTALLY humiliated!!” Sophie says hastarastly.

‘’Help me someone save me from these chickens!!!!!’’ Peter shouts. 

‘’No thanks we won't help you, Peter.’’ Says Sophie. 

‘’Why?’’ asks Peter.

 ‘’Because, you’ve just done all sorts of mean things to me!’’ Sophie snaps back. 

“What is that?” Sophie asks. 

“Oh nothing. But could you stand and one side and Nick on the other?” He says. 

 “ Sure” Nick replies. 

  “ You promise that it’s safe?” Sophie asks, anxious. 

    “ Yes it is perfectly fine” he answers. 

     He presses a button and Nick steps out of the way of the rock and Jacob gets zapped     instead of Nick!!!!!

“Ahhhhhhhhhh” scream Sophie and Jacob at the same time!
