"Sit properly...don't fidget," Mr. Francis told Mrs. Francis.

He was applying nail polish to her fingers.

It was their 50th marriage anniversary and their family had thrown a huge party to celebrate their togetherness.

They were blessed with two beautiful kids. A son and a daughter. Both were well settled with their families and they were happy seeing their kids happy.

As they finished with the nail polish application they sat down to reminisce the years gone by.

They still remembered their wedding day when Mrs. Francis looked impeccable in her white gown and Mr. Francis looked resplendent in his tuxedo. As they said "I do", they remembered their first kiss.

Oh, Mrs.Francis still blushed to remember that.

After a year of their marriage, their daughter was born and after 2 years their son. Their family was complete.

They faced various ups and downs of life. Hand in hand, with a smile, sometimes pulling each other up...sometimes scolding each other.....and they laughed.

"Come on grandpa get ready" their 16-year-old granddaughter came to get them ready and they happily obliged.

Today too they were dressed like their wedding day. Mrs. Francis looked like an angel and Mr. Francis like a dude in his tuxedo.

They were so so happy. They hugged and kissed each other.

Their granddaughter invited them on stage to share the secret of their happy married life.

Happily, they came on stage hand in hand and their granddaughter stayed back on stage to translate what they told.

Yes, they both were MUTE. Both were neither able to speak or hear but still, they held on to each other and were celebrating their golden anniversary together.

And as they went on stage there was a huge round of applause. People wanted to know their secret of happiness.

He started "When we got married there was no system of meeting in public. We just went ahead with what our parents told.

Together we raised beautiful kids." he looked at his wife and smiled.

"We are blessed that our kids did not have this handicap that we had...its only God's grace" and they both were weeping.

His wife told "When we got married, the priest told that God made man first and then through man's ribs, he made woman so that man always keeps her close to his heart. And he has always done that." she said shyly

"We are thankful to our children that they arranged such a grand celebration for us. We can't thank god enough." and she had tears in her eyes.

In fact, all the guests present were teary-eyed.

Then their daughter got up and said "Mom dad we love you and we have a surprise for you"

And there on a screen came up beautiful photos of their past, their memories, their cherished togetherness.

The brother and sister duo took over the mike and started saying in sign language so that their parents could understand while the grandkid translated it for all the guests.

"Dear mom dad. you have been the best. there have been times in our lives when we were ashamed of your handicap. We didn't like it when you couldn't understand us...sometimes we took undue advantage of it and told wrong things to you like our teacher was complaining about us but u felt they were praising us" the whole room was filled with laughter.

You have always given us the best that you could...if we could give half of what you gave to us to our children we shall feel blessed. Most importantly seeing you guys so happy with each other we understood the importance of silence.

We came to realize the power of silent love. You need not always say I love you to show your love.

You show the love through your care, your support, your understanding, your trust and we are so glad to learn that from you."

The whole room was silent. There wasn't a soul who wasn't teary-eyed.

Mrs. and Mr. Francis were so proud of themselves and started clapping for their kids and everyone in the room followed so.

Love is not about expressing with words...true love is when you understand the unexpressed words :)
