Mirage

   

      It was a story of very poor family. In the family, there were only three persons- Vishnu, his wife Laxmi and their daughter Maitri. Vishnu works at different construction sites. Laxmi works at rich people's houses taking Maitri with her. 

    Maitri was now 5 years old and now it's time for her to go to school. Vishnu and Laxmi worked very hard to get admission to private school. Maitri started her first day at school very cheerfully. But other students at school laughed at her attire of very low class. Maitri went home and told her parents about her first day. Vishnu promised her to bring new clothes and school bag for her. 

    Next month, Vishnu bought some fine clothes and new school bag for Maitri. Maitri was very happy. Maitri was very intelligent girl. She understood everything what was taught by her teachers. She also understood her parent's condition. So she only focused on her studies. 

    Maitri ranked number 1 in her primary education. Now she was in 8th class. One day her teacher declared an elocution competition held in her school. Maitri took part in the competition and stood 1st in the competition. She nicely spoke about "SAVE GIRLCHILD". Then she took part in district level competition and state level competition and won first prize. 

    She decided that one day she will become gynecologist. In 10th class, she stood 1st in her district. She took science stream in her higher secondary and also ranked 2nd in her city. She got admission in government medical college. She studied hard and finally her internship started in government hospital. 

    Maitri decided to save every girl child. She did seminars to protect girl child with her team. She used to went in poor locality and made people understand that boy and girl are equal. There is no field in which the girl can't do. In every field the girl can do her best. Internship was over and now she worked as the gynecologist.

    Till now Vishnu and Laxmi always supported Maitri. Now they wanted that Maitri should marry someone. Maitri choose Mihir, a very simple guy who is also a gynecologist. 

    In Mihir's family, Mihir and his parents lived. His elder sister, Meera got married 5 years ago. Meera also has a little daughter named Rahi. Maitri accepted Mihir's family and married him.

    Mihir was a very kind and loving person. She always kept Maitri happy. They both did their job at Government Hospital.Two years passed after their marriage. Mihir's mother forced Maitri for a child. 

   Mihir and Maitri tried for a child. 6 months later Maitri told everyone about her pregnancy. After 9 months, she gave birth to a girl child. Vishnu and Laxmi were very happy. But Mihir's mother seemed sad, but did not express it. Maitri was very exited and got busy in her princess's care. 6 months passed, now Maitri's job started. 

   Few months later, her sister-in-law Meera expected 2nd time. Meera asked Maitri about the gender of her child in womb. Maitri knew it was a girl child and if she told her the truth,she became disappointed. So, she told her that everything was fine. 

    Mihir also asked about Meera's child's gender. Maitri told me that it was a girl child. After few days, Maitri was informed that Meera missed her child. Maitri was very sad. She consoled Meera. After some days, a head nurse told Maitri that Meera aborted her child through Mihir. Maitri was in big shock. She can't imagine her husband as a criminal of his own sister's unborn child. She asked about it to Mihir. Mihir replied yes, because of his mother's pressure, he did it. 

   Maitri now no longer wants to live with Mihir. She can't accept him as a criminal of an unborn child. She can't understand how could Mihir did that. It was a mirage......
