It all began at the badminton court. Rina and Jay met for the first time at a game of badminton. Rina used to play badminton to keep herself fit and also as a past time. Slowly she became very good at the game. She became a champion representing her school. Now she was harboring ambitions to make this sport her profession.

Jay, on the other hand, was a raw hand at badminton. In fact, he was not so much into sports as he was in studies. He had a bright academic background and a promising future. Jay had come to this badminton club to meet his friend. Then all of sudden he was asked to play a game of badminton with Rina. Not knowing what to do he agreed. Rina was already in no mood to spare anybody. Jay failed to score any points against Rina and was forced to accept defeat love all as they say in badminton parlance.

This loss proved very humiliating for Jay. Deep inside he thought he must do something to overcome this humiliation. He immediately enrolled as a club member and began to train rigorously under the guidance of a good coach.

The coach sometimes used the services of good players in a friendly match to train the new horns. So Rina was mostly deputed for the friendly match against Jay. Slowly Jay's game picked up. Off the field also friendship developed between the two.

Jay improved his game drastically and almost came close to beating Rina.

Rina loved the way Jay took up the challenge. Secretly she had admiration for him. Jay also loved her attitude. Slowly an attachment grew between them.

Till the time Jay was in town they both met each other. Jay was fond of Rina and Rina saw her love for Jay. Then all of a sudden it all cooled off.

Jay went for higher studies abroad. Before going he promised Rina that he would come back and till the time he came back he would keep in touch.

Jay kept his word-initially and did keep in touch. Rina could not due to the exorbitant telephonic charges on international calls. So she had to wait for Jay to respond. Slowly the gap between the calls increased until finally, it stopped altogether. Rina was very disappointed and heartbroken. For some months she was very depressed and it took time for her to recover. Then slowly she became normal and took charge of her life. After waiting for five years for Jay and getting no response she decided to go ahead with a life without him. She had now become a coach herself and was tutoring young boys and girls badminton. There she had met another fellow coach with whom she got friendly and after a whirlwind courtship they married.

Jay had gone to the States and joined a university on a scholarship. After finishing his masters he joined the job market. Initially, he did try to keep in touch with Rina but later she became 'out of sight, out of mind' type for him. He regretted at first but consoled himself that she must have also got on with her life without him.

Many years passed in between. Jay had now spent many years abroad and the pull of his native land and his home was drawing him homeward. He was now a proud single parent to a beautiful daughter of June. He had named his daughter June due to the month of her birth. A few years ago Jay had become single again as his wife and June's mother walked out of the marriage. Jay had the custody of June.

Then Jay cleared all his dues and settled his receipts and finally made his journey back home with June in tow.

After they reached home, then one day Jay took June to the same badminton court where many years ago Jay had played with Rina. He wanted that June should take up badminton seriously. As it was a good envigorating game and helped build good relationships. June played with a boy named Arjun. Arjun taught June the knack of playing badminton. Later Jay discovered that Arjun was Rina's son. Arjun played like a champion like his mother used to play in her younger days. Jay came across Rina one day. He was dumbstruck in seeing her. He could see the impression of struggle on her face. Rina was now a widow and faced a lot of struggle bringing up her son Arjun. At first, Rina was reluctant in seeing Jay but her son Arjun insisted he was his friend June's father. Destiny had strange connections. Through the friendship of their children, the parents came face to face with each other who were once lovers. The love all point game of badminton now was tied at match point.
