In the month of October, it was the Eve of Diwali when we had a great FamJam. I and sister were very much excited to celebrate this festival of light in the moonlight. We made all the preparations for it. Diwali means enlightenment. My Father bought all essentials for Lachmi Puja. My Mother made the temple ready for the arrival of Lachmi Maa.

I and my elder sister, Neha after getting the Puja over, enlightened our house with diyas and candles. And starting burning crackers. Then suddenly in the smoke of barud of crackers appeared a lady running in haste in a very tidy and old, though not a bigger. We followed her and saw that a tall man took her forcibly with him to a nearby house. What we saw there was just horrible.

The man started beat ing her with his belt. And his family members were also there but they were also abusing the lady and slapping and blackmailing her for not giving them as much dowry as they wanted. We immediately called the police for the case of domestic violence. They came there and saw everything from the window through which we were bullying our heads. The police arrested the whole family. And took the lady to her mother's house. They were also charged a huge sum of money.

Finally, the lady got freed from such a drastic situation. And now she is a popular professor at Nalanda University. Her name is Miss Sukhpreet Kaur.

In this way, on the Eve of Diwali, we enlightened the candle of wisdom and burnt the cracker of darkness.

"I prefer the folly of enthusiasm to the indifference of wisdom"
