"Uncle, why don't you have a Rakhi tied today? See, how many Rakhis I have been tied. This one is from Anu Didi, this one from Tanu Didi. Uncle, they live in Delhi. And from now on my younger sister will also tie a Rakhi to me. God has given me a gift in the form of a young sister today, “My five-year-old son Kinshuk told to an unknown person, sitting near him in the waiting lounge, outside ICU.

“Sonnie, I too had a sister who has turned a star in the sky”.

"Do you talk to her every day? I will talk to my sister a lot, every day, "Kinshuk's spirited dialogue continued.

In my agitated state of mind, everything seemed to be running to bite me, even the innocent son's chat. My restlessness was increasing with time. The fear of losing my wife Kanu forever began to dominate my entire consciousness. Kanu has delivered shortly in this hospital and gave birth to a daughter, but due to the rupture of the vein, during the operation, she started bleeding. Blood of Kanu's group was not available in this hospital or any other hospital in the city. I called every agency and was sitting in a very desperate mood when the called me again. He said,” Mr. Aman if you do not arrange blood in one hour it may be difficult for me to save your wife.”

These words of the doctor acted like a hammer was constantly beating my mind. The fear of losing Kanu forever seemed to take away all my wisdom. What to do, what not to do, I was not able to decide anything. I had come to this small town just three months ago, so I didn’t have any acquaintance with anybody.. Before coming to this city, I was in a joint family with mother, father and two brothers in Delhi when suddenly I was transferred to this city. Kanu was on the seventh month of pregnancy. Mother, father objected to my idea of bringing her here with me.

But for the first time getting a chance to be away from the joint family set up and be independent prompted me to ignore their words. I said to my father “ Still there is enough time for delivery. I may find it difficult to manage my food being alone, without Kanu. Please send Amma to me as soon as possible. ”Amma was expected to come tomorrow. At around eleven o'clock this morning Kanu started getting her delivery pain and I had to bring her here. I called father before leaving for the hospital asking him to come here. It would take two to three hours for them to reach here.

Now the doctor had given an hour to arrange for the blood. Tears began to flow from my eyes in a desperate situation. The words of the priest told at the time of Saptapadi , echoed into my ears, "From today onward you shared the joys and sorrows as husband and wife," My conscience began to tease me, "She, who is a part of you had left everyone to join you with trust, is going to face death any moment. What are you doing to save her life? ”Only when I was sobbing under a helpless situation, I became aware of someone’s touch on my shoulders. The unknown person sittin

g on the side seat and talking to my son was scolding me. by the side of my son

The person sitting on the side seat talking to my son was scolding me,” Mister, take care of you. Tell me, what is your problem? Hope I may be of some help to you”

”Wiping my tears, I told him everything.”What is your wife's blood group?"

“O negative.”

"Oh, don't worry, God has listened to you. I too have the same blood group. Come on, tell the doctor to take my blood”

"What, will you give me blood?" I don't even know you. I have no relation to you. ”I told him with great surprise.

"Hey brother, it's humanity. Hurry up, go and tell the doctor"

The doctor hurriedly took the blood of the person and offered it to my wife. Even after offering blood, the fear of losing Kanu forever was not over yet. While chanting Hanuman Chalisa, I was begging for Kanu’s life from God, when the doctor came out and said to me, “Mr. Aman, your wife is out of danger now. Everything is stable. Don't worry; nothing will happen to her now”

These words of the doctor revitalized my consciousness. In my grief, I could not even thank the angel properly who saved Kanu's life. I grabbed both hands of that stranger "You are mister….?

"I am Tapas, Tapas Gupta"

"Tapas, how should I thank you? I will not be able to repay your debt for the whole lifetime for helping us with your blood. Whenever you need any help, my life will be always there for you”.

"Oh no, Mr. Aman, don't embarrass me by saying this. This is not such a big deal. Who knows better than me, the pain of losing my loved ones? My brother is fighting death in the operation theater. He had a terrible accident. Last year, my sister also died in an accident. Pray for him, his operation is in progress.

"God always supports good people, don't worry, everything will be fine." I shall pray for your brother from the bottom of my heart

Just then the doctor came and told him, "Hello Mr. Tapas, the operation was successful" Manan and his family breathed a sigh of relief.

Then I thought something, went outside the hospital and brought two Rakhis. Then I said to Tapas, "Tapas, I want to have a lifetime relationship with a good person like you"

"Yes, I shall be very happy"

"Will you come with me to the ICU for a minute?”

"Yes", Tapas had curiosity in his eyes.

I took him to Kanu’s bed and said to her, "Kanu, you always used to say ‘ I do not have a brother’, take this Rakhi and tie it to him, he has saved your life by giving his blood"

Kanu tied the Rakhi on the hand of Tapas with trembling hands, showing a deep sense of gratitude in her eyes.

The atmosphere of the hospital was filled with the sweet fragrance of humanity.
