Happy Mahashivratri to all my Readers. As I am writing today's blog right since my childhood always use to marvel,

why God Shiva had three eyes when we are habituated to see two eyes in other Hindu gods.

In the Indian Vedas, the three eyes of God Shiva have been interpreted as sun, moon & fire all possessing the distinct reference of light emission. This reveals God Shiva is the illuminator of the world. Each action performed has some significance. The fire has the proficiency to burn & reduce anything to ashes. The Sun is luminous bright and provides us daylight. The moon in the night gives refreshing cooling peaceful night light to us.

God Shiva views the world with his three eyes, when he is in meditation mode he is like moonlight. When he is in his joyful mood he is like sunlight & when he is in the destructive mode he is like fire.

God Shiva is also Triloki he is nyaya -drishti, karuna -Drishti & finally jnana-Drishti

The five cosmic creations of the world are regulated by God Shiva. They are shrishti sthithi samhriti additional two new added & believed in some religions are nigraha & anugraha.

The Lord Shiva Dwadasa Jyotirlinga Stotra which is chanted on Mahashivratri day is

Saurashtre Somanatham cha

Sree Shaile Malikarjunam

Ujjayinyaam Mahaakaalam

Omkaare Mamaleswaram

Himalaya to Kedaram

Daakinyaam Bhimashankaram

Vaaranaasyam cha viswesam

Trayambakam Gowtameethate

Paralyaam vaidynaatham cha

Naagesam Daarukaavane

Setubandhe Ramesham

Grushnesam cha Shivalaye.

This stotra mentions about 12 auspicious jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

In our final stage of ones, meditation one starts seeing their inner light combined with experiences of the entire galaxy permeated by mesmerizing blue rays of consciousness. The mediator completely gets submerged in meditation gets submerged in the pure consciousness stage & experiences the sublime state of Shivoham.
