Fliers - 7

Mandira slowly picked up her phone. Mayank sounded a little worried. He asked "Mandira. Are you okay?". Mandira answered, "Yeah I am fine." An awkward silence remained there before they started talking again. Mayank said " I called to congratulate you on your contract. Congrats you bagged the contract for which you flew down here". Mandira answered sarcastically " For which there was no need to. We are from the same city and yet we both flew down to another city for a deal which we could have done back there as well."

Mayank thought to himself for a moment then answered: "Maybe we were destined to meet like this only". Mandira also knew that if this deal was made back in Bangalore then she would have never got the chance to meet Mayank, even if she did then this would have been different.

After a moment Mandira asked "So you must be really busy. Right?" Mayank answered "Ya, I am a bit. But not much. What about you?" Mandira said "I have nothing to do. I had thought when I came here that it would take at least two days but it got wrapped up in just a few hours. I actually roamed around the city yesterday because I was waiting to hear about this contract. Well, it's done now and rest of the formalities would be completed back home so I guess should also head home."

Mayank heard this and without even thinking he said: "Don't." When his senses worked and he realized what came out of his mouth he got a little amused, he smiled and then started searching for sensible words in his mind. He said "Actually my situation is the same here. I was also supposed to work for longer but my work got wrapped up early and I am free today. I have been to this city a number of times but I never got a chance to explore the city because of work.." He paused for a second and then added "..besides I never had the company. I thought maybe we can go together. Will you come with me?"

Just like Mayank Mandira's answer also came out as a reflex. Before she realized her lips had answered: "I will." Her answer brought a smile to both their faces. Mayank told her "That's great I'll see you in an hour then."
