Failed To Win

"Failures are not meant to lose hope, failures are a lesson to rise up.

Failures don't decide your destiny, just pat the dust of failures and stand tall."

Rakesh Somaiya, a handsome tall man quoted this statement.

"He was in the wheelchair and receiving an award for Brave Journalism. There was a huge round of applause and standing ovation. His face was full of smiles and yet eyes filled with tears. His hands shivered with the mike. There was no one to cheer him up. He had money so he had some bodyguards, nurses and servants to help him. Journalism was his passion. He had to pay a huge price to pursue that."

Rakesh was missing his dad Rajesh Somaiya. His dad is an entrepreneur and had seen a lot of hardships in life. He had lost his daughter due to a deadly disease when he was too young.

He loved his wife and she was not able to conceive for years. In his late 40's, a miracle was born on a full moon day and he named him Rakesh ( Ruler of the full moon day) Rakesh was pampered and a stubborn child. He was not interested in studies and his fragile body type often made him sick. Cold and cough, loose motions and fever; troubled this boy in his school days.

"As a teenager, he was not interested in Geometry but he was interested in Algebra. He was not interested in History but he was interested in Geography. He was not interested in English though he watched the BBC a lot. Hindi was his favourite subject and he was an hardcore Bollywood fan. Girls wooed him since class 8th but he could not gel with boys in the class. His interest was different. He was more interested in cooking and crafts. He liked to draw Mehendi on his mom's hands and he liked to see hairstyles and try on his girl friends' hair."

"Hey Raks, you have ladies hormone." His cousin Vijay teased him. Slowly his pet name was changed from Raks to Rinky.

Childhood days and school life are always best but for Rinky , popularly known as great Rakesh Somaiya it was gloomy.

"His father kept on comparing him with his cousins and called him useless. He had even cut his nerves in class ninth to commit suicide. The blood oozing out of the wound made him fear death and it was done in consequence of failing in Geometry. He had just scored 2 out of 75, he was sure his dad will slap him tight that day. He tied a handkerchief on the wound and went to his mom's room. His mom was sleeping so he did not have guts to wake her up. He decided, let destiny decide his toss- Life or death. He fainted in his room but his mom had come to wake him up in the morning. She was terrified looking at the blood splashes on the floor and screamed. She also found a slice of apple on the floor. Soon he was rushed to a hospital and she assumed her son was cutting the apple. He too stood with that lie without any guts to reveal it was a suicide attempt being fed up of comparisons and failures."

The secret of this attempt was just shared with his teenage crush Riya. They did not know about making love with love letters or kisses. He often sacrificed his 5-star and Cad bury for her. Even she was dumb student like him and both had just scored average marks in class tenth board exam. He wanted to join her college but that college had a bad name. He joined another college but he wanted to do exactly what she did? Being average in English, he chose English Literature. His dad made fun of him and his English. Yes, he had made terrible mistakes when he joined an interior magazine after graduation. Instead of " Stinking Bathrooms," he had given the title " Ravishing Bathrooms." The copy was not proofed well and it went in to print.

The company owners were shamed and he was thrown out of his correspondent job. Depressed and failed, without telling anything to his parents, he flew to Dubai. Dubai became his dream. He met Elena, an English Tutor on his trip to Abu Dhabi. Her green eyes mesmerised him and she was lured by his charm. Though he wrote terrific English, he spoke ornamented language.

He was just on tour but Elena was there for a study tour. They met on weekends and Rinky shared his story with her. It was an interesting story and with Elena's help, he got a job at a real estate magazine in Dubai. It was just copy-pasting job but an article has to be catchy with introduction and headlines. With Elena's being his secret editor, he became an expert and mastered his skills. He gained a lot of success in his profession.

"Fame knocked on his door and he was also awarded. " Best Glamour Journalist." "

He was very happy with his achievements and he just thought of Riya his teenage crush. He booked tickets to Mumbai. He searched her on face book but could not find her. He decided that he will check with his school friends.

"He was red blushing like plum,

He did not know there was a bomb,

Some pregnant lady with a baby in the womb,

Was in disguise, planning the passengers' tomb..."

The pregnant lady was a human bomb in the aircraft he boarded; just before the bomb could blast, she was caught. The bomb squad was late and Rinky decided to take a chance. He successfully diffused the bomb. He had prayed to God and used his Bollywood brains.

"He soon entered into Crime Journalism and he met with a terrible incidence of life while saving a school bus from terrorists. He was declared dead in a bomb blast though there was none other than him declared dead."

"In reality, he was rushed to the hospital and his legs were amputated. His boss wanted their magazine get best TRP with their journalist, young - handsome and brave sacrificing his life for innocent kids.

" Rakesh decided to keep his identity secret and freelanced with the name Rinky. One of his seniors met him with his fate line and gave the news to media and that is why he was given the Brave Journalist award! He did not hesitate to come forward.
