Equal Unequal

Equal Unequal

Little Binni rushes to her room and starts crying. Latika is shocked by the behaviour of her kid, so she goes to her and asks gently, "what happened my princess?'

"Do you know maa, yesterday Munni promised me that she would give me one of her Barbie dolls, but today she refused?"

Latika sighs. Little hearts do not understand the difference between classes, they don't know what is rich or what is poor. Poverty does not allow them to fulfil all the desires of Binni, but Binni always gets hurt when she sees something attractive in Munni's house but she doesn't get it. There shouldn't be any friendship between rich and poor. The poor one always gets the wound. But she hopes that this unequal friendship between Binni and Munni would not last long.

◆◆◆

Binni's husband passed away in a road accident, leaving behind him all the burden of their 3 years old kid Nattu. Binni is now simply clueless. She doesn't know how to raise their kid, how to live by herself!

"Binni, my dear, be strong."

"I can't… I can't… How would I survive now? How would I raise my kid? How would I pay for maa's treatment?"

"Calm down dear. Let's start a business together."

"Business! But how? Where can I have the capital?"

"Why? Do you think your friend is dead?"

"You!"

"Why not? Is not Nattu my son? Aren't you my best friend?"

Munni smiles and she takes Nattu in her lap and starts kissing her. Tears roll down from the eyes of Binni.

And there also, in the bedroom, tears roll down from a couple of eyes which belong to a person who is bed-ridden today. Today Latika realizes for the first time --- the sphere of 'friendship' is so wide that it cannot be measured with such trifle words like rich-poor, equal-unequal.
