End of the world !?

The clock struck 8:00 p.m. 

I could hear my mom's voice calling me downstairs. 

"Jane come downstairs. Have your dinner.

I looked at my homework and called out " 5 more min mom ".

I could hear her sigh. 

I kept my homework aside and joined everyone at the table. 

Everything was going great but something kept bugging me. 

I shook the feeling and enjoyed the conversation with everyone. 

I came back and started doing my homework. 

After 3 hours, I saw it was 12 am. I decided to sleep. 

Late night, I woke up from a sound. I got up and sat on my bed. I can hear noises everywhere. I came downstairs. Everyone was present there. Suddenly, all the lights went out. My father checked our generator. It was also not working. I came out of my house and I saw several orange-colored lights in the sky. I called everyone out. The strange feeling since the evening crashed upon me. I can feel something is very off. I tried to calm myself. 

My mom whispered, " Everyone let's go to the basement fast ".

The urgency in her voice scared me. I could see the orange lights visibly coming closer. We all dashed our way towards our basement. Noises were increasing. 

We reached our basement. Everyone was out of breath. My mom locked everything. 

We all stayed there for 2 - 3 hours. Suddenly everyone was becoming short of breath. It was becoming unbearable. We ran outside and what we saw was horrifying. The moon has turned orange and the lights we were seeing were the asteroids. The planets were all visible in the sky.

All the asteroids were falling down. People were running everywhere. I saw people getting hit and burnt by the asteroids. I could feel the world ending. There was no escape. Nothing we can do. 

My father pointed towards the sky. I could see an asteroid coming toward me. My head started to ache vigorously. I could see my end very near. I shouted to my family how much I love them and they mean the world to me. I couldn't hear anything. The noises around me increased. I felt like I was dissolving into darkness. 

Suddenly my eyes flew open. My alarm clock was blaring. I shut the damn thing. I was out of breath and kept on whispering " It was just a dream. It was just a dream.... ".

I was on the verge of crying. I composed myself. The dream felt surreal. 

I came downstairs and saw everyone was fine. I thanked God and got ready for my school.
